Weird interractions of Deathwatch kill teams with rules

Recommended Posts

So we all know the weird effect of making assault intercessors with outriders giving Infantry to these huge bikes.

But I noticed something perhaps more controversial.

In the Proteus Kill team it requires to have  vet and then you can add biker, vanguards and terminators.

The Proteus unit datasheet comes with the following keywords (Infantry, Core, Kill Team, Proteus).

The rules about the Proteus unit specify that the unit gain the "TERMINATOR" keyword ONLY if the unit only contains Terminators

And the Drop Pods in SM codex specify that infantry can jump in it and CANNOT transport "JUMP PACK, TERMINATOR, PRIMARIS ..." models

However in a weird RAW way, the terminators nested in a Proteus kill team are loosing their TERMINATOR keyword

making them eligible to be deployed in a drop pod alongside their Proteus unit.

Is it the right way to read it until this gets FAQ or am I imagining things?

Qui-Gon is correct. For clarity, this is the passage:

For the purposes of the Bolter Discipline ability (see Codex:
Space Marines
) and for determining which models can embark
within a Transport model, the following rules apply:
• Deathwatch Terminator models have the Terminator keyword.
• Veteran Biker models do not have the Infantry keyword
and instead have the Biker keyword.

There is no reason not to expect this to be the case in the Supplement as well.
