Askari
Is it worth making an army list as an ultramarines' successor. Looking at the supplement it seems like most of the unique power in the ultramarines comes from the special characters they can take. And it seems like a number of the warlord traits and strategems work less well or not even at all with a successor than with a "real" ultramarines army. Are the stratagems, warlord traits, and one relic good enough to justify taking an UM successor? BLACK BLŒ FLY
Do you want a themed force or focus more on being competitive ? Askari
I was wanting to do a theme force based on the pre heresy nemesis chapter. Guys who fight against horrors and monsters. Give them warded and the trait that makes all nat 1 and 2 wound rolls fail. Not looking to be super competitive but also not looking to get my face kicked in. I normally play my army with the imperial fists trait but I like trying out other builds. BLACK BLŒ FLY
Oh then go for it since you won’t be needing any named characters plus you can roll your own and they has the option for command abilities now.
