Kallas
So, I have been playing some Crusade and picked up the Wolf Supplement the same day. I used some Bikes who now gain the Headstrong and Berserk Charge rules for being Swiftclaws. An interesting wording that I noticed is that Headstrong does not force you to declare a charge, but it forces who you can charge if you do: "Headstrong If this unit does not contain a Wolf Guard model, then each time this unit declares a charge, you must select the closest eligible enemy unit as one of the targets of that charge." If you declare a charge, it must include the closest target but you don't have to charge. Is it just me discovering this and this is old news to you Long Fangs? To me it definitely makes the much improved BS3+ Swiftclaws much, much more appealing that they aren't required to charge if possible. Especially for Attack Bikes. Dark Shepherd
I think it might be because of the change in charge rules, with overwatch mostly gone if you wanted to skirt mandatory charge you could declare on everything in hope you didnt make one of the declared charges Kallas and TiguriusX 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/367551-headstrong-wording/#findComment-5629512 Share on other sites
Squark
Seems like, qt least in part, an attempt to expidite things. You don't have to narrowly skirt the 12" mark if you don't want your Claw packs to charge this turn, which should speed up movement.
