So I have my Deathwatch supplement but not the main marine codex. I was looking for combos with this strat and wondered if all the weapons with bolt in its name count towards being used with this strat. Ex: executor bolt rifle. Does anyone hav a pic of the list of “bolt” weapons?

Yes, specifically bolt weapons - having the world "bolt" in it. This includes pistols equiped as well. I do not have a picture on hand but imgur may have one if you do a search, if you really need to see the whole listing.

Because it changes each equipped bolt weapon to heavy 1 when using the strat, I wouldn't recommend building a unit around it. It's a situational type of strat based on my theory crafting.

Now units that it COULD be useful on are intercessors with stalker bolt rifles. You already have good range as well as being heavy 1, so they are probably going to be stationary. Vengeance boosts the damage, kraken boosts the range by 6", etc. Pop this at a unit within 12" for an extra volley of shots from the pistol

What unit(s) were you thinking of building around it?

Ah, so wounding on 2's with hellfire rounds potentially in addition. T5 unit at 38 pts per model and 6" better range by default, vs the intercessor at 20 pts per model. Expensive but hard to remove if you can grab an apothecary as well.

A trade off to consider, rapid fire (shoot again) would only work on intercessors. If heavy intercessors, you could toss them in a kill team and buy a specialism. Sticking a unit next to an HQ with vigilance incarnate could give you to wound rerolls against the right target.

I was thinking of the heavy intercessors. Specifically using vengeance rds for the extra dmg making them S5 -3ap 3 dmg in Devastator doctrine with malleus specialism. Plan on using the Xenos hunters rule to get full reroll failed wounds with the unit not just 1s tobwound.
