I found this awesome Celtic bear model that I'm converting into a SW Lord/WGBL on a Thunderwolf (well, ThunderBEAR), and I'm trying to find a good shield for him.

I was thinking either the Celtic Wolf Shield from PopGoesTheMonkey (Celtic and Space Wolves)

or the Iron Bears shield:

What do y'all think?

Hmmm... The round shield fits way better in relation to the shapes and the patterns the bear.

The kromlech wolf shield would also work.

Round. And repose the legs! Its not as hard as it looks. I reccomend cutting halfway behind the knees, find position and then fix damage.

I actually pinned him to the model, but he's not glued in place yet because my green stuff dried out from ~10 years of non-use.  :-(.  My shopping trip is tomorrow, so I'll be able to fill in the cuts I made to his legs to get him to fit.

I see what you're saying, the saddle needs something to make it look like it's held in place.

I'll ask PGtM if they can add the bear, or add a Celtic bear to the round shield.  That seems to be the best of both worlds and I can use other SW iconography to tie him into the rest of the army.

I do love those Sons of Thor shields from Kromlech...  If/when I start converting bladeguard vets, I'll pick up a few of those.  I'm going to pick up some PGtM shields for 'normal' WG & models with SS.  But those Kromlech ones just stand out.

Now I just have to learn to paint (again) with old man eyes.  I tried to paint a LF and he looked like he had a disease!

Someone in the SW FB group just posted this badass conversion of a thunder bear

Only thing I dislike is the man bun lol...

As for the OP, round, as someone said above the swirls fit with the design on the bear...
