Short of ordering from a 3D printer that makes bits for conversions, I'm looking for an option to buy an existing box that comes with power fists? Is there one? I need three more for my intercessor Sergeants, and would like to get it from an existing box from a local FLGS.

Anyone know of one that carries these bits in multiples preferably?

Thanks.

Honestly, I'd recommend you hit up Ebay - you can get powerfists for like a buck a fist on there. A bit of cutting and gluing should get you the rest of the way.

Yes, but I'm in the middle of a move, so might be couple of weeks before I have an address to have stuff sent to....if there's a box out there, one of my local FLGS might have what I need and I can get right to it.

Assault squad comes with a power fist, as does the tactical sqaud, vangaurd veteran, stern gaurd, Mark III space marines and space marine command squad all come with one (I suppose two in the command squad if you wanted to count the apothecary arm).

The Mark IV marine set comes with 2 (one can be converted into a lightning claw, but looks like a power fist when the extra long bits are not added).

Otherwise forgeworld has heaps of good kits. Maybe ask your FLGS if you can get it deliver to their address for a small fee? That way you are supporting them, but also getting what you want :)

Would it be crazy to buy a box of terminators and convert from there? Most will have 5 powerfists but different elbow to shoulder. And if you buy regular or cataphractii you might still have enough arms left for the terminator squad.

Otherwise an imperial fist primaris upgrade sprue has one, and I think there are two sprues per pack? Have to file down the fist icon?

The Tartaros Terminator fists fit really well on primaris bodys. And the box comes with 10 fists. 5 left and 5 right.

So if you go Tartaros you may want to use some right fists - that way you can still make a full squad with the left fists.

To be fair, I think Lukoi was probably looking for some nice upgrade pack with multiple fists, and we went crazy suggesting £35 kits with one. But in any case, we don’t judge frater for having different time/money priorities in this forum. Maybe Lukoi just really really needs those powerfists? Maybe Lukoi’s happy with surplus for the next project?

Thanks all for the feedback. The tartarus termie option looks like the best idea, so I'll see if any of my FLGS carry it.

And I'd just like to say....for a batch of people invested in a hobby/game with plastic Soldiers, where people routinely pay 35$ for a single model that they might use once, the smug condescension coming off some folks seems mighty ironic, and certainly hypocritical.

Perhaps one shouldnt worry so much about how other people spend their hard earned cash. To those that assisted, I appreciate it.

And I'm indeed fine with a surplus of bits once it's all said and done. Sometimes we spend a bit extra for the convenience of saved time, not unlike when i bought some indomitus boxes even though i dont play necrons, because i didnt want to wait for GWs release schedule on the new SM kit. And I can ebay the neurons (and spare termie bits if I feel they arent necessary for future endeavors).

He Lukoi

I wouldn't call it condescension. One thing I've learnt from my professional life is the risk in attaching "tone" to written communication. I'd like to think Reskin was trying to think laterally offer you alternative solutions.

In any case, if you go down the conversion road would love to see pictures of your final finished product! J

I really hope my post didn’t come across as trying to shut anyone down. Frater will read this thread in the future, and some will have different priorities, so all ideas are welcome. Some might have a tournament deadline where they really need that power fist, others might be on a budget and trying to minimise cost. Either way, the information here is useful - buy the box, or get thinking about a friend who collects that, or put that into your eBay search. I’ve been in both positions myself, sometimes when trying to save money, other times when I have literally bought the box for one bit and worried about what to do with the squad later.

For Primaris I think the assault intercessor box is the best option now available, since it went on preorder yesterday. It comes with two power fists, two power swords and two thunder hammers - plus of course all the chainswords you could ever want, including come clamped to the waist.

And you can still use the guys. You can make them as assault intercessors if you want, but you may also (like me) have spare guns to make standard intercessors or hellblasters. I used some of the Indomitus assault intercessors to get dynamic poses on intercessors and I was pretty happy with the result.

Previously I've used Terminator Fists. I had the guys from dark vengeance still on sprue and they had some quite good poses.

I used a Tartaros fist converting a Primaris Captain, that was straightforward enough and looks the part, so I'll definitely support that kit, especially as you get the most Fists per £/€/$ spent. The downside is I think it's a direct-only box nowadays so it might be hard to track one down locally.

The Vanguard Veterans box is only really useful for Power Fists if you're prepared to do a lot of scraping and filing to convert the 8 Lightning Claws, and IMO they never look quite as good because they don't have the finger articulation of proper Power Fists. That said, it is an overall great kit and an excellent source of things like Thunder Hammers, fancy Chainswords and blingy shoulderpads for helping characters and veterans stand out.
