Well my Brotherhood has been quiet of late....while my gaming group is still focused on Horus Heresy we are slowly discussing 40k again. So to get my army 10th edition Compliant I need......

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

So Eventually I will resume working on my Brotherhood.

While playing my HH League game, my LGS had the Grey Knight Sanctic Conclave Battleforce on shelf. Do I need it, no. Do I need more, Grey Knights, no. Am I going to buy it, probably. 

 

My Group is going to be doing a Crusade and the Grey Knights are my choice. But I want them true scaled so my option is either primaris/ new terminator True scale or Tortuga Bay has some True Scale Grey knights so I thought why not. 

 

So Grey Knight True scale will be coming eventually. Now to find base toppers for them.

So I made some purchases......

 

(It's official the Grey Knight True Scale is starting)

 

With the exception of Crowe* and the Venerable Dreadnought** all will be True Scaled.

 

20 Suits of Terminator armor (4 sets of 5)-  5 will be for my Characters (GMNDK, Brother-Capt, Chaplain, Librarian, and a NDK)

 

15 Suits (3 sets of 5) - Purgation and Strike Squad (x2)

 

15 suits (3 sets of 5) - Purifier, Inceptor and Strike squad

 

3 sets 

 

Of course my Characters will need cloaks so DMG's Silver Wardens capes. 

 

For basing I am going to be doing a desert scheme with a chaos feel similar to Castellan Crowe's base

Of course Magnet Baron Magnets in the bases, Cork board to build up the bases plus some Vallejo products

*Castellan Crowe is already tall enough and does not need to be True Scaled.  Also I now have 2 and one will be a Brotherhood Champion. 

 

**Venerable Dreadnought is too small and @Grotsmasha did one with a Saturnine Terminator, I am going with a Redemptor Dreadnought with a Ballistus Dreadnought Lascannon arm.

I also considered the Contemptor chassis, but wanted to keep everything that I was converting to height comparable (except for the Marines themselves) so they would still be "tournament legal" (100% GW plastic, correct height, correct base size).

So all the parts are here so I should be starting on True Scale Grey Knights for my gaming groups Crusade next year. One of the Changes is we are starting at 1500 pt lists instead of 1000 pts and we are discussing a few other things. I was going to do Imperial Fist Emperor's Shield but decided not continue with that paint scheme and rolling them back into my Exorcists. Looking at the Exorcists or Grey Knights, Grey Knights are going to be the better army and easier to paint. Plus they do not need a named Characters for Benefits of the army. 

 

 

My Planned Crusade:

 

• Brother-Captain (Warlord) 
• Brotherhood Librarian
• 3x 5 man Terminator Squads
• 2x 5 man Strike Squads
• 5 man Interceptor Squad
• 5 man Purgation Squad
• Nemesis Dreadknight

I can break into 2 forces With Brother- Captain leading the all Terminator/ Nemesis Dreadknight and Brotherhood Librarian or 2 Terminator Squads and all the Power Armor units. 

 

And since I am using Army Painter for this army

So.... you mentioned the Forge Moon of Deimos a while back... any chance we will see a House Steel Knight as an Ally?

I want to do House Steel for my Armigers I have and if I ever get around to getting Imperial Knights.  I had plans to do an Ad Mech for Deimos and got rid of that army. I have to many armies as it is. And some are too large.

I don't have that problem. I just have an impulse buy or three that I have to wedge into my armies... which seem to give people online brain aneurysms when I say:

 

"I need this list to have a drop pod, a bunch of Infernus Marines, Vulkan He'stan and a Firestrike Servo-Turret...

 

Yes.... a Firestrike Servo-Turret."
