Also Helwinter Gate goes on preorder in a super fancy edition. Odds of getting one before the scalpers?

I'm not totally convinced that wolf head will be for us, look at the damage to the head, 3 claw marks, that noble wolf has be mutilated, not the way of the Sons of Russ.  Next year GW are dropping a race for Age Of Sigmar that have Bear Riders (can't remember the full details), my money is on that.

The special dice are also just the 8th edition codex dice with the hard to read clawmarks

Ahh but they are the Darker 30k Grey not the baby blue and they have yellow marks instead of Black. Totally different :P (that or its the same blue but my eyes are deceived by the yellow into thinking they look darker)

I recognise my failings and will be sure to correct them :)

For me personally, having something "hand signed" from something just bought is meaningless - it's the event of meeting and talking to someone, even briefly, at a book signing or lecture or sporting event that makes that entire set up meaningful. I really think GW misses the mark on these collector items - I'm actually not entirely sure what would induce me to buy their collector stuff - a war game isn't about collecting things to me, unless it's my collection of models for the game.

Different strokes for different folks, YMMV, and all that.

Personally I'd prefer it if they focused on play aids like objective markers, or made a mission or two based on the events of the book. Switching from a set number of copies to a made to order release would also be a lot more consumer friendly.

That was the beauty of the old Games day when you could stand in line and get books signed. Unless you wanted ADB to sign as he ran away after lunch and didn't return, I think he has a healthy fear of the GW fan base

I ambushed him after lunch to get my book signed in the hall as he was trying to escape which adds to the memory :biggrin.:
