Spamming Primaris: Would it work?

Recommended Posts

The concern I have with lists of this nature is they are just boring to play, and play against - swamp the objectives and hang on picking up points for the win. That said I can't blame the player base for this kind of list design, the issue is the missions. They are just too similar with the standard objective placement and going first still yields a big advantage with scoring early.

180 T4 wounds is difficult to kill in 5 turns and you can swing things your way even more with chapter choice and buffs plus vehicle heavy lists in the limited GT events don't seem to be popular although there are some dreadnought heavy lists using IH appearing that would probably be happy to play against this style of list. There's also the ever present question of boards and terrain, is there enough cover to hide a chunk of your PA boys?

I have a large DG army which will be my starting point once 9th gets going here but I am looking for marine list ideas so if you get it on the table I will be interested to hear how it plays although I like the idea of a dread list but not IH at the moment

To be fair there haven't been a huge number of new D2 weapons in the books we've seen so far in 9th. There have been a few more it's true, but it's hardly universal.

Marines might be the faction best at handing out D2 attacks right now, with things like plasmaceptors, bladeguard and aggressors.
