Kill Team composition (number of models)

I think I've been reading the rules wrong, and I'd appreciate it if someone could help me out!

 

On page 52, the Proteus Kill Team starts at a Watch Sergeant and four Deathwatch Veterans. The entry then says:

 

"You can add any 5 of the following models to this unit:"

 

I had interpreted that to mean that I could have a Proteus Kill Team of JUST the Watch Sergeant and four Deathwatch Veterans, but if I wanted a bigger kill team I HAD to add five more models (in any combination) from the list provided below.

 

My reason for thinking this is that it says "You can add any 5" not "You can add UP TO 5".

 

However neither Battlescribe nor the 40k app throw an error when I add just one more model to a Proteus Kill Team.

 

So... can I legally make kill teams of more than five but less than ten models?

 

I'm quite happy to be called an idiot if someone can confirm how I should read it.

5 to 10 marines. Whatever you want within that range

but being that you can only combat squad in max size units, I'd think either min or max would be the go.
I'd be surprised if there's a good reason to go somewhere in the middle.

Transport considerations. If you don't want to bulid a max squad but you need to fit in a transport of choice, you can.
