Brother Navaer Solaq
After reading through Brother Tyler's Adeptus Arbites KT idea, it got me started on path of creating a new kill team next year. I am looking for ideas and ways to achive it on a budget. I have some following ideas and would like to hear some feedback from here. 1. Purchase a Cadian box set (comes with grenade launcher and flamer bitz). Get some green stuff and convert cadian models into an Adeptus Arbites. the lasgun barrels would have to be shaved off to give it the look of shotgun. I was thinking of adding green stuff to have slightly larger shoulder pads. OR 2. I have lots of space marine scouts (both the shotgun and CC variant) . I could purchase a some second hand space marine scout box. purchase some grenade bitz. Then convert the scouts to have grenade launchers. CC scouts would proxy as arbites with power maul and pistol. OR 3. Purchase a palanite enforcer 10 man box set. Brother Tyler
(Ninja'd by RandyB) The easiest option is to buy a Palanite Enforcer Patrol (and a Palanite Subjugator Patrol if you want to use the suppression shields). This option requires the least amount of conversion work, but it's the most expensive. This option will look the most imposing on the tabletop and will probably look closest to the current image of the Adeptus Arbites (assuming GW is extending the move away from Judge Dredd to the Adeptus Arbites in addition to the Enforcers). The cheapest option is to use the Cadians, though you've already cited the conversion requirements (and those will be more complex for shock mauls, suppression shields, grenade launchers, etc.). If you go this route, I suggest using different heads. The Space Marine Scouts option looks better than the Cadians (to me), and is slightly easier for conversions. It's almost four times as expensive as the Cadians option, but if you already have the Scouts, that drawback is moot. If you go this route, I suggest using different heads (unless you want to try your hand at sculpting helmets over the plastic heads - and more power to you if you're willing to attempt that). An option you didn't mention (perhaps intentionally) is using the Militarum Tempestus Scions. Those look more like classic Adeptus Arbites than the Cadians, but have the same issues with regard to conversions. If you use either the Cadians or Space Marine Scouts, the Militarum Tempestus Scion heads might work (if you plan on using different heads). Brother Tyler
It occurred to me that a Van Saar Gang might also provide a viable alternative. A bit of conversion would be required, but they would be very distinctive on the tabletop. walter h 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/368267-adeptus-arbites-kt-project/#findComment-5647848 Share on other sites
RandyB
Any of these options, really; separately or mix-and-match. 1. Palatines 2. Tempestus 3. Van Saar 4. Space Marine Scouts walter h 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/368267-adeptus-arbites-kt-project/#findComment-5647888 Share on other sites
ThePenitentOne
During the glorious days of the Witch Hunter dex, my crew helped me put together a force of almost 40 Adeptus Arbites. Trolled ebay pretty hard to make it happen. Glad to see there are others out there who love them as much as I do. Because of the limited number of poses/ models actually available, when you see them all ranked up, it looks like a parade drill- not a lot of dynamic posing.
