GuardDaddy
OK so theory crafting. What if we spam heavy bolters and plasma? Bullgryn are still good. Plasma bomb in from reserve works well. Conscripts can clog up lanes and shield objectives. Regiment: Wilderness Survivors + Disciplined shooters (+1sv if not advancing and 18" rapid fire weapons) Rationale: These apply, every turn, to almost every unit. So efficient. Dual Battalion: Rationale: elite slot pressure Battalion 1: HQ Yarrick Company Commander (Warlord - Grand Strategist, Reilc - Kurov's Aquila) Elite: Command Squad (4 plasma) 2x Astropath 3x platoon commander Troops: Conscripts (20) Conscripts (26) 4x Infantry Squad (plama gun + heavy bolter) Battalion 2 HQ 2x Company Commander Elite: Bullgryn (6) 2x Command Squad (4 plasma) 3x Veteran (Heavy Bolter +3plasma) Troops: Conscripts (20) 5x Infantry Squad (plama gun + heavy bolter) ------- Reserve: Yarrick + Vets + command squads (3CP) 21 plasma - hitting on 3+, rerolling 1s - 42 shots - can deploy outside auspex scanner range and still get rapid fire) 9 heavy bolter shots - hitting 4+, rerolling 1s Secondaries: *Engage on all fronts (move, move, move T1 to get all 4 quarters) *Raise Banners *+1 enemy dependent 200 bodies - might be too low. Expect to lose 50 T1, then 10 less each turn. Not played it - but have had all elements work well independently. Anyway just chucking ideas around - thoughts appreciated Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/368280-upgraded-infantry-2k-foot/ Share on other sites
wulfgar hammerfist
I've been trying to figure out infantry centric armies as well. I have found a single blob of bullgryns is easy for my opponent to out maneuver. Lately I've run 2 blocks of 4 but still think its not enough close combat capability. I've been considering pairing each bullgryn squad with a Hades drill for more punch.
