It's the Studio's debut of their very own painted Grey Knights army. Who better to test drive their new Grey Knights army than Brian! Also, the Drukhari army comes with the Tantalus included. That massive FW army centerpiece model! So cool!

NOTE: During the Q&A at the end, Brian did say he was one of the 9Ed playtesters...for Grey Knights! So, up to now he we know he has been a playtetster for Death Guard, Tau and Grey Knights. While they are still playing with the current GK rules, he did say Nemesis Force Weapons were getting an improvement and that he was satisfied with their eventual improvement rules (he does not specify exactly what though). So check NFWs improvement off the wishlist...!?

Were there other words of wisdom that he might have unintentionally dropped? Not at my PC at the moment, but that last bit fills me with hope.

Nothing else besides that...for now. Since they have GKs on their channel and all the Chat knows Brian play-tested their up-coming rules, there definitely will be more GK questions in the future.

Oh, man, this filled me with hope for a Grey Knights Codex in the near future.

Oh my, this video is five hours long. I get so self-conscious when my videos go past the two hour mark!

Well, they do record / stream it live, so you literally see a whole game from start to finish. I remember they did a special Apocalypse game at 14K points. They streamed and uploaded the batrep at a total of 7-8 hours long! It was Orks v. Tau, and when they have models that make the Tau Riptide look like an average size Crisis-suit.....mind blown!

My guess is that he mentioned obvious +1S on all NWFs except hammer and maybe falchions. Which is stlll a decent improvement.

That's probably it.

On another note, he was also asked about GK vehicles and Tide of Shadow interactions with the Light Cover rule. Basically, for them they will play with RAI. So, while they acknowledged RAW can have a different result, it's best to go with the most straight forward impression of the rule. Just clarify with your opponent first which one they will ok to agree with.

One thing that's curious is about cover. So Tide of Shadows gives us cover, right, but it doesn't specify, WHAT cover. There are two types of it, either dense (-1 to hit in melee) or light (-1 to hit in range). Not to mention there are now many ways to break said cover, which in my mind, makes our rules pretty much nothing. Then there is the fact, that terrain pieces give infantry that, again putting us down a leg or two. So our tides will have to be changed to reflect this. Getting cover is pretty nice, but if you are up against things that have at least -2 attached to it (e.g. necrons), then that rule is effectively worthless, as we would be hiding behind terrain most of the time. That is also part of the reason why I like running purgation squads with AA.

So tide of shadows is interesting in fact we get light cover this is specified in the rare rules section.

The interaction walking dreamer is referring to is that RAW. In tide of shadows all psychic units, vehicles or not get the benefit of light and are minus one to hit. This is due to the specific wording of the benefit of cover in the rare rules section pg360.

However I agree with dreamer and that this is not RAI so do not play that way.

I‘d consider a -1 to hit at all times in said tide as fairly strong. And if GW intended for us to have it irrelevant of where our units are placed, then a much simpler wording could have been chosen. No mention of terrain would be necessary.

This has nothing to do with playing loosely but with whether you‘re willing (or are desperate enough) to interpret the rules as such. To me, the -1 to hit is clearly intended to come in effect if all models in a unit are at least partly within a piece of terrain. Screw GW for not being able to write their rules in a clear manner.
