Welcome to the Grey Knight unit of the Week, where we analyse the Grey Knights units strength's and weaknesses. The unit for this week is the Paladin Squad . Each week a different unit will appear, with the idea being that we discuss how best to use that model on the battlefield.

Questions:

1. General first thoughts and impressions of the unit?

2. How would you use said unit, to compliment a list, or to build a list around?

3. What other units/strategems synergize with it to give it that extra shine?

4. Miscellaneous use/Tips and Tricks?

BONUS: Creative ways to use units that wouldn't be obvious at first.

I think everyone knows what paladins are and how they work fairly well. They are better terminators and as a result get more millage from survivability stratagems. However something I do think is interesting is running them as units of 5 rather than 10 as msu style. Personally I still like a blob of 10 despite the points as it still leaves the option of combat squading.

Im a huge fan of this unit tbh. Bring 4 psycannons in a 10 man unit and escort your beat stick characters into the middle of the board. If you need to then you can always combat squad them and have the psycannons on the board and deepstrike the rest of the squad. I think this is the best unit to build around in a convergence list and gives you alot of control early as you can gate them into obstructing terrain close to the midboard with astral aim t1 and hammer some units with no consequence and now the pressure is on your opponent to make a move.  I suggest you guys look up Glasshammer gaming as Mani from the uk plays a pretty decent grey knight game.
