Indefragable
Looking for pics and/or tips/suggestions for painting this gal. The official GW depictions have her as black armor with a white robe and white+red dress bits...but she is always shown alongside OOOML forces. My own Order’s colors are grey and purple with bronze, but my thought is to have non-<Order> units be the colors of their own “Orders” and are simply attached to my forces. As such I am leaning towards white armor and intellectually a white robe, but then I need to ensure her dress/sash is colored enough to contrast all that white. Black and red? Definitely want that universal medical/Red Cross feel. Will probably use a SM Apothecary painting guide if I go this route. Would love to see your takes for inspiration. AlexAbroad
I haven't got round to painting the new plastic Hospitaller yet (soon though...) but I did my old metal one similar to how I think you're planning on doing yours. I used red lining and trim to break up the white a bit, and also shaded the cloth and armour with different colours. Elzender
For what is worth, if you want to paint the armour white, you could go for colored robes to give some contrast, and justify it based on real-life reasons; surgeons and ER personnel usually wear non-white uniforms to conceal the potential bloodstains (red on white pops out much more than on blue or green). True, but somehow I imagine that's less a concern in the 41st millennium.....where you have to drop some of your blood into your coffee grinder to get it to work right :) Going go with my gut and do the armor white and then make a judgement call on the robes from there, but probably a blend of red and black and white of some sort Elzender 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/368373-painting-hospitaller/#findComment-5655836 Share on other sites
