hermanista
How do, So I'd decided my next army project would be Sisters of Battle, but wanted to go and convert things a bit more than usual. Recently got to the Triumph of St Katherine model, which whilst great tells one type of story, and I fancied telling a very different story. So after a couple of mock ups, I think I might have found something to settle on, based upon one of the pieces of artwork in the codex. Still much more to add, but for a start I think I'm getting there. What do folks think? Naryn
Love the story yoy've told with this diorama. Reminds me of the old 3e art splashes. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/368391-hermanistas-sisters-of-battle/#findComment-5650991 Share on other sites
Lienna
I love the take on the codex art, a really neat idea, and makes more sense than Saint Katherine's Corpse's tour of the galaxy too! Are you considering adding more cherubs/standards in order to give the model more height? My main concern with what you've done is all of the minis are standing at standard height so they may not stand out as the centerpiece of the army? Especially with all the Imagafiers and Similacrums giving even standard sisters units that extra tall mini in them. hermanista
@Bjorn Firewalker, War009, Guardian31 Cheers folks! @Noigrim And that's fine, I still love the original model as well, but decided I wanted to use the opportunity to explore a different scene/theme. @Naryn That's what I'm hoping for so must be on the right track :) I'm planning on doing movement trays for each unit in the army as well which will hopefully continue that feel across the whole force. @Lienna As above, yeah a different tack on the theme but a great excuse to try something cool and get some memorable conversion into the army. And you're correct about the size of it, which is where I get to seaway nicely into the latest update. I was lucky to get contacted by Wade from the Warhammer TV team about putting the piece on their hobby round up show yesterday, so having managed a bit more work on it and taken some newer pictures, thought I'd add them here. The aim is to get a similar "mass" to the original so there are no complaints about modeling for advantage or anything like that. So this is where we stand atm. I'd ordered more cherubs from the kit off ebay which have arrived, so the volume will continue to grow on the piece. Majkhel
Great idea and it looks really promising!Definitely go all-haywire on the number of pennants and cherubs and pigeons and purity seals Looking forward to see this project complete. And all the ones that will surely sprout out of it Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/368391-hermanistas-sisters-of-battle/#findComment-5651783 Share on other sites
