Even our 6 and 10-man units are not getting the worst of the Blast weapons. For me it's still worth it to take bigger blobs of JP units, like SG, VanVets or DC. They are fast and if you manage to protect them, they will serve you better with greater numbers.
A D6-shots weapon is still theoretically capable of wiping out a 5-man SG squad in a single volley. It will not wipe out a 7-man squad though even with the Blast rule and you can always resurrect a dude or 2 with the Priest. You should be able to take some punches, cause you will get punched in a game.

ya, our tanky JP units are kinda what I was thinking

Any unit which you wish to apply singular buffs to such as Blood Chalice, Shield of Sanguinius etc. In practice these are our hammer units, SG, DC, VanVets etc.

Non-Troop units that can Combat Squad are also good choices, Eradicators spring to mind here.

The biggest risk to larger squads are probably Plasma Inceptors since they have both Blast and 2 Marine-killing guns per model. However these got a price hike in the FAQ so while they are still very good, at least your opponent has to pay for them. These guys are a hard counter to some of out best units although VanVets with Storm Shields are a lot less vulnerable to them. If you face a squad, you may have to accept that they are very likely to get in a spectacular turn of shooting. And then you kill them with extreme prejudice with whatever you have left. :tongue.:
