So after like a year break where I focused on Warcry, I’ve gotten back into 40K. Decided to start with my Death Guard. So here they are:

D5-BDDBCE-AF4-D-447-F-95-B9-F79917-FE091

Started with a regular Lord.

First 20 pox walkers

I don’t remember who makes these but thought they were too good to not do as AM guardsmen that succumbed to Nurgle’s plague

990-C27-F0-CA51-42-CB-8491-C21-D3122-E77

My third unit of 20 pox walkers. These guys are mild conversions just to separate them from the first. Removed horns and the like to make them just different enough. Like they’re still a little more fresh than the first set.

Finally two sets of plague bearers led by a poxbringer. Dunno if he’s even usable in 40K but liked the model.

I have 10 plague marines in the back being painted. With more primed and waiting.

Will post more as they’re painted, and will post some of my plague marine conversions prior to painting as I’ve tried to keep the poses very unique (working on 70 plague marines, all unique poses.) I know the paint scheme is boring as they’re standard box are style... so, I’m down for any comments on making them a little more flashy/nasty. Cheers guys!

Those are 'Plague Zombies'* made by Mantic Games :) (https://www.manticgames.com/games/deadzone/plague/plague-zombies/)

Very nice work on your army, I look forward to seeing it develop :tu:

* these miniatures are the reason GW changed from Plague Zombies in 6th/7th edition, to the more easily copy-writable Poxwalkers

Got my first squad done. Still need to base and add the verdigris. First up, the easy to build trio.

The rest of the squad.

Will start on my already primed second squad next. These dudes are rough to start painting but once you get going I actually like it. It’s fun to paint them all nasty and sloppy as compared to the clean lines of Ultramarines and Space Wolves or even Black Legion.

Based. Up next my second squad of plague marines.

I’m going to do another character in between squads. What would you guys recommend? I have these four primed and ready. Lord Felthius? Plague Surgeon? Malignant Plaguecaster? Or Noxious Blightbringer?

I would like to see Lord Felthius. Mostly because he has a face I don't like and I am curious to see how you choose to paint him. I have yet to paint my own.

Oh man. I have already decided I’m not using that face. It’s just off to me. I’ve seen some other guys do it well, but I’m going to use this one, I have him already kinda started too.

Finished up Lord Felthius, other than basing. I think he needs something, but I can’t quite put my finger on it. Hopefully it’s just finishing the base.

On to the second squad!

  • 6 months later...

So, I have been so busy with work, I literally have painted three models in the past 4 months. That said, these are the three! I plan to get the rest of the squad (another 9 plague marines) and the Noxious Blightbringer done by the end of this week.

Well, I didnt get the Noxious Blightbringer done yet, and it took me a little longer to get them painted and I still need to base them, but got the ten done.

I know, I am not the best by far, but I've only have an hour or so every other night this past week, so I try to go as fast as I can to get what I can painted.
