Yeah contrasts did help. With a bit of dry brushing, some ryza rust and Tessrract glow.

Thanks for the compliments

The iyanden yellow goes down first. Then I use fireslayer, tesseract glow or plague bearer for the main skin tones. Mostly dry brushed bone white over everything. Pretty simple..mostly annoying painting 6 of each dude

60 poxwalkers ....never again

This statement fills me with a certain amount of trepidation, seeing as I'm about to paint over 50 of these

They look great though, and I'm certain they'll look even more impressive on the Tabletop along with the rest of the army :tu: :)

I would rather paint 100+ poxwalkers than the 70 plague marines and 20 Blightlord term is I have on my to do list.

Contrast and shades work wonders!

what really tied it together is the volupus pink and bone white. Also the new Tesseract glow is such a better color than the plaguebearer. The annoying thing of that paint is that it seperates in the bottle in hours. Agitators and shakers are required. A stir stick with an enamel gloss varnish/paint or scotch guard on it will also get the job done.

A suggestion for your workload on the marines. What helped me was doing a more rusty and dusty version of this raptors paint guide. The way this dude did them is really similar to most death guard schemes l

While that is an awesome tutorial, and thank you for sharing, it may be a little beyond my. I have yet to use my airbrush.

I’m just struggling to base the white (all the bone and tentacley bits) and trim out the gold. There’s so much!!!

well I would say thats a pretty easy technique. When you follow up with the top down spray it will correct any overspray of the browns.

Another approach that helps a lot is to just do the armor, its highlighting and rusty/weathering dont focus on staying super neat. You can go over it later with your metallics and fleshy parts. Then add some oil/ooze to eliminate need to make precise and smooth transitions. Its a lot harder to do weathering/corrosion on a fully painted metallic part. Its also wasted effort. Because in the end you're shooting for mostly rusted. You can make it more easily and realistic by putting the bare metal on the edges and surfaces that see wear and contact. I also recommend doing each squad together so they all have the same look
