Hi everyone,

 

So I’m trying to get my head around Shadrak Medusons “master of the shattered legions” rule and it’s interaction with various RoW.

 

I’m considering taking the esteemed praetor as part of an iron hands force, giving them access to alternative rites of war. The way I first interpreted the rule suggests that you switch any reference to LA:RG or LA:Sm to the necessary LA:IH for all of its effects.

 

On further scrutiny, the rule doesn’t make references to the force adapting to the alternative LA rule. RAI suggests this should be the case, as it would make the majority of RoW unusable and therefore invalidate the rule.

 

It also brings in some unusual interactions when using an alternative RoW in an iron hands force. For example, technically “covenant of fire” allows you take pyroclasts as non compulsory troops.

 

Perhaps the character is only intended for use with a shattered legion force, rather than a standard IH force?

 

Any thoughts?

Just read the FAQ, which states he only benefits from the rule of part of a shattered legion force!
