I've been kicking around an idea in my head for a new marine chapter. It'd be made from primaris bits and de-nurglified death guard bits. I haven't really seen the sprues for either. Is it possible to mix and match parts from  plague marines and regular primaris marines or are the two kits too different?

Heads and Shoulder Pads are 100% interchangeable.

Torsos and Legs would require MAJOR surgery to interchange as both kits have combined legs and torsos.

Arms should be mostly interchangeable, but the torso width between the shoulders may differ.

Honestly, the idea of "de-nurgling" parts from the Plague Marine kits sounds utterly insane to me. The amount of work involved would be unfathomable. There's so much intricate detail on the Plague Marines. You'd probably be better off investing in a 3D printer and either finding or designing parts that look like the older armour marks Plague Marines use.

I think a better bet would be using heresy era marines (specifically mkIII armour, as I believe that’s what all the DG minis are wearing) and add chainmail etc. in greenstuff.

It'd be way more effort than you think. There are plogs around that de-nurgle the current DG kits, but these are mainly for heresy era DG and iron warriors.

If you want the Mk3 look, get the Mk3 kit. Using the DG kit you'll have fat marines and lots of antlers etc.

Ok. Its a no go. Thanks everyone.

Don't give up. Some fraters here on the B&C have combined Death Guard bits to create some really nice loyal marines. See below for some examples:

Unfortunately, I don't remember the names of the fraters whose work I've supplied above but I bet if you did some digging in the WIP area of the B&C you'd find more examples.
