As we all know, Astartes do not camouflage their tanks. Not that an Astartes tank would benefit much from camouflage anyway given how bloody huge they are (a true-scale Land Raider would probably make the TOG II feel inadequate) but that's not the point- Space Marines, Chaos or otherwise, do not hide behind sensible, practical colours!

However, in my opinion at least, painting the tanks exactly the same way as a force's power armour (main colour, accent panels and trim) is kind of boring, and results in a rather bland looking model. But a thought occurred to me- for a Slaaneshi Chaos Space Marine force, what better way to paint the tanks differently whilst still tying them in with the main force's colours applied in camo patterns? Given that Slaaneshi warbands use all kinds of nutty colours, applying them in a camouflage scheme would be both amusing and also visually interesting.

For example, here's my WIP Land Raider Achilles proxy (the "Noise Raider") with the traditional Emperor's Children black and pink applied as airbrushed camo bands:

(This was taken the day after painting and is now out of date, though the model still isn't quite finished).

However, there's plenty of other camouflage schemes that could work with suitably Slaaneshi colours. For example, Caunter camo...

Or the infamous "Razzle Dazzle" used on battleships...

And no doubt countless others (splinter camo and "octopus" camo both come to mind). Anyway, has anyone else tried this/considered trying it? Have any ideas on schemes that could work? General input on the idea? I know Kierdale did some rather cool camo schemes on his Rhinos.

A very interesting topic!

I think that if you turn the pink strokes into splinter and then blackline them or something, that would be one very striking vehicle.

Doesn't have to be complicated - just an example of "cell" or lozenge type pattern you could use...?

MR.

I think with Slaanesh you can do almost anything. Bright colours, weird symbols - whatever you fancy. For a more "classic" approach I think the garish colours and some animal prints (either directly, or style for the bright colours) is the way to go. Nobody would look at it and not know exactly who it belongs to :P

If you're not sure where to start I'd say pick an existing camouflage pattern and replace the colours with more exciting ones :)

GW uses a couple of natural camo schemes on it's Slaanesh models, namely zebra and leopard camo. Why not do that? Maybe the Hedonists just cover the whole damn tank in animal skins? A zebra or leopard pattern with pink panels with legion icon would look ace.

That last one! With the tiger (zebra?) stripes!

Nothing screams more ostentatious decoration / 70's hair metal / cheap prostitutes than tiger stripes in gaudy colours. Well done!

I guess other animal-hide patterns would also work. A slaneeshi cultist would wail at the thought of painting boring straight lines.

"My mom is a classy lady."

For real though, not enough gaudy 40k era EC, the stock pink and black is boring.
