Xenith
In 9th edition, there is some merit on the Mawloc as one of the only (if not the only) model that can deepstrike within objective stealing range (1" away?) from an opponent. This is pretty key as you can drop it in on a weak non-obsec or single model backfield unit and do some wounds, or contest the objective, denying vital primary points. Trygon has some applications, but they're both kind of squishy at T6/12W/3+, so they don't last long to any dedicated firepower. Xenith
Not personally, but it wouldnt be too hard - just the head really. The mawloc technically has the 3 pairs of smaller talons while the trygon has the large (you get 4 pairs in the kit, trygon gets the 3 largest, mawloc gets the 3 smallest) but no one will actually notice in game.
