Conduct a full scale seige on that man!

Due to a trade with a friend, I have come in to possession of some unusual forgeworld models, names tarantula turrets and 2 death storm drop pods.

 

I am kind of in love with the idea of using these with an imperial fists force. Cheap gun emplacements to screen out reserves and the deathstorm pods to hold middle objectives while shooting at anyone who tries to take the mid field. Hopefully they could be enough of a distraction to keep heavy fire off of my shootier elements, and cause tactical dilemmas for the opponent. This gives an opportunity for 'defense in depth' that could be deployed in turn 1.

 

Any strategos frater have any input on how such a play-style could work and what the drawbacks/pitfalls may be?
