CCE1981
I’ve debated with myself about adding 2x Blood Claws or 1x SkyClaws to a Space Wolves Successor and decided on Skyclaws. How would you outfit them I am thinking full squad, with the Skyclaw Pack Leader getting an Axe, and the Wolf Guard Pack Leader getting Frost Claws. Have a Captain with Teeth of Terra and Plasma Inceptors running with the Skyclaws screening and burying opponents in attacks, the Plasma Inceptors blasting elites/harder targets and the Captain supporting both. I will be bringing a Primaris Librarian and Chaplain, and a Chapter Champion with the Champion Warlord Trait and Hunter moving up the board with Assault Intercessors and Blizzard Shield Venerable Dreadnoughts, plus either a unit of Company Veterans with Storm Shields and Power Weapons, Aggressors or Bladeguard Veterans for the rest of the army. Thoughts? Are the special weapons on the Skyclaws worth it, at least on them I replace a bolt pistol with the weapon, where on Bloodclaws I replace the chainsword. Dark Shepherd
Wolf Guard with jump packs beat sky claws hands down for me, can be taken in units of 5 with as many fists as you want Rest of the army needs some more mobility/transport and a bit more shooting esp heavy weapons IMO Karhedron 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/369234-outfitting-skyclaws/#findComment-5671194 Share on other sites
CCE1981
Suppose I could make them Wolf Guard and do the Breacher Shield thing I was thinking. Also wouldn’t need to go Inheritors of the Primarch. Karhedron
I am also planning a unit of Jump Pack Wolf Guard. Mostly Lighting Claw and Storm Shield but possibly a Thunder Hammer on the Pack Leader. Just a note that point-for-point, LCs are more efficient than chainswords, even against chaff units (that reroll to wound goes a long way). Gherrick
Wolf Guard also have the option of sporting a couple storm shields. Having about 2 SS per 5 models will increase your durability a LOT, especially if you can keep in cover.
