Therefore we should start getting articles looking at the various updates soon. Do those usually start being posted in the week running-up to pre-order Saturday?

I believe that was the case with Dark Angels yes.  I'm really intrigued to see what they do to "power up" Drukhari as they have with the other 9th ed. codices so far.

I am hoping that the Dark Angels codex will be a pointer here. It allows you to run themed Deathwing and/or Ravenwing forces but also allows you to run a mixed army without any real restrictions. It looks a promising template to use for factions that have distinct sub-divisions.

We will have to wait and see if that approach is adopted elsewhere.

I hope they'll introduce some new units into the range. Maybe a new wych or covens unit. Anything that's added to flesh covens would obviously be very good. When it comes to units I think that wyches could need 1 more attack. They dont need to suffer anymore as the tissues of the army. Raiders and ravagers shoul get a +1 to their front and side armor. Scourges (for those who use them) should get a -1 points cost drop.

Other than that, I'll definately be buying myself the new codex and some wracks ofc!

I'm thinking of all the things that they can do to improve the list without adding models. We KNOW that we're going to be able to field mixed detachments already, though we don't know specifically how it will work and whether or not anything of the old Raiding Force concept will survive. They could easily add Trueborn and Blood Brides without models- if a Sisters troop box can also build Celestians (elite) and Dominions (fast attack), there is no reason why a Kabalite box can't also be Trueborn and Wych box can't also be Blood Brides.

If Kabalites get +1 attack and Wyches don't, it will be the stupidest thing I've seen in print; in addition to that +1 attack though, I think they really need to pay some attention to Wych weapons... And we already have an indication that Hydraknives at least are getting better.

As for transports: Armour Values and Vehicle Facings no longer exist. The buff vehicles need is to go to a capacity of 12 for the Raider and 6 for the venom.

Well according to the leaked sheet, Wyches are getting Base 3/4 attacks.  However it's generally thought that since every weapon they have already added +1 attack in 8th they're going to lose that rule for basically all of them, besides maybe the Razorflail and Hydra Gauntlets.  So I'm expecting them to be sitting exactly where they were from before.

18" Shredders were true. As someone who plays as Obsidian Rose I can tell you that range bracket makes them very dangerous. Shredder Scourges looking good. Dark Lance damage changes are welcomed, too. Ravagers starting to stand out more. Anyone else notice the PGL is missing?

Dark Lance Ravagers are looking very tasty, if Raiders with Dark Lances are pointed well I can see them being spammed for sure!

I wonder if the PGL has gone the way of the dodo? Has it ever had a model? If it stays in the rules it would make sense not to be included on this datasheet as it was only strength 1 and heavily relied on it's special rules

It was on the Kabalite and Wych sprues. I always welcomed it in 8th, when the Morale Phase meant sonething. These days it is nice to use on Wyches with Fire And Fade to get into position for turn 2. The real problem with PGLs is justifying the minimum 5 point cost.

Venoms with 3 S6, -1 attacks.... game changer. I fear my days as footdar are numbered.
