CCE1981 Posted March 6, 2021 Share Posted March 6, 2021 Just for the silliness: If you had the models to field an entire Chapter in a single game you’d have to adjust the standard rules a weee bit to make them work, there are just to many smaller game limitations. First off, limiting Command buffs to their respective Companies. The Masters of the Chapter, Librarian and Chaplain buffs would still hit the entire Chapter, but the other buffs would be limited. Relics, Special Issue Wargear would be able to be repeated, but in different Companies, Same thing with Warlord traits. Furthermore, Successor Chapters would be able to take Chapter relics, but limited to one per Company. Any other fun ideas? Given that a single Firstborn battle company, 1 Cpt 2 LTs 6 Tac squads 2 each assault and devastator squads, costs 2065 pts before taking ANY weapons or vehicles, that'd be a large Apocalypse game at that. Multiple companies regularly fight together in smaller games - my 4th company captain regualrly gives my 1st co terminators rerolls, so why change this? Furthermore, Successor Chapters would be able to take Chapter relics, but limited to one per Company. Relics are just that, only one exists in the universe. How would 10 copies of the emperors sword suddenly appear in the universe? Open up the crusade relics also. Any other fun ideas? Claws and Effect Posted April 3, 2021 Share Posted April 3, 2021 On the Chapter Relics idea: It would largely depend on what exactly the relic is. Sometimes a relic is literally a 1 of a kind item, sometimes it is just a piece of wargear that no other chapter has access to. I'll use Raven Guard as my example because I know them best. The Ebonclaws and Raven's Fury should remain singular, as they are described as being the only ones of their kind in existence. However, Ex Tenebris, Silentus, and Oppressor's End could easily just be particular variants of weapons that only the Raven Guard use (their homeworld does orbit a Forge World, after all). If you were to do this among friends you'd have to discuss beforehand what sounds like a singular relic and what sounds like equipment unique to that chapter.
