techsoldaten
Wondering how deployment works for units broken out into combat squads that are using dedicated transports. Don't have the BRB handy, but my understanding is that in 9th edition you don't combat squad a unit until deploying it on the field. Is this correct? What I'd like to be able to do is combat squad a Proteus Kill Team, have 5 Vets riding in a Corvis Blackstar and keep 5 DW Terminators in reserve for deep strike. Both units would be arriving on the table turn 2. I'm not sure that's possible. From 9th edition the correct sequence could be summarized as: choose a unit to deploy -> combat squad it -> choose where to deploy each unit simultaneously -> deploy You will be able to deploy 5 vets in a Corvus (that must be already deployed) and 5 Termies in DS techsoldaten 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/369418-combat-squads-dedicated-transports-and-deployment/#findComment-5676248 Share on other sites

Here's the other scenario I need to account for: can you deploy multiple units into a unit that's already on the table? For example: I have a Corvus, it's on the table and currently has 5 Vets. Can I deploy 5 more vets from another Kill Team into the Corvus? TheRickRoberts
Page 5-6 of the crusade book and page 125 of codex space marine have the rules. Basically, step 10 “declare reserves and transports” This step you combat squad any units, set them up in any transports, set them up in deepstrike, pay cp for teleportarium strat, pay cp for strategic reserves. For example if you have 5 terminators in a proteus kill team you can combat squad the terminators out, place the terminators in deepstrike, place the veterans from the kill team in a rhino. Then during the deployment step you will deploy the rhino with the squad inside it.
