Greetings fellow B&C dwellers,

I am currently working on a narrative project, and apart from our usual assorted Imperial military, I wanted to have some miniatures to represent non-combatant roles, from inquisitorial acolytes to chapter serfs, pilots, civilians, merchants, guild/government representatives, etc. Basically, any kind of people that do not brand a weapon as their main way of living/dying for the Emperor/Chaos/Four-armed Emperor/biomass/Gork/Mork/...

Thus, I would like to know if anybody could give me some suggestions regarding good sources of miniatures that could fit in those roles, be it from GW kits or third parties. Note: I am familiar with Artel and Anvil Industry, and I actually recently got a parcel from Artel, the quality is certainly exceptional

While most of the models carry weapons normally, Necromunda's range could provide a variety of hive dwellers. You'd have to replace their weapons with tools or empty hands, though, and their facial expressions might be a little fierce for noncombatants.

Orlock, Van Saar, Cawdor, and Goliath Gangers where very similar equipment/clothes to their non-combatant clanmates (Escher and Delaque less so), and House Orlock and Goliath are all known for repurposing industrial equipment for combat purposes. The Corpse Grinder cults also rely heavily on Industrial tools, but they're a bit too clearly fallen to chaos.

You could also try using some Genestealer Cults models- They use repurposed civilian vehicles and tools, so if you de-xenofied them they could just be regular miners.

Weirdly, Genestealer cults provide good options for miners if you can find some less alien heads and have some green stuff skills. The vehicles work well too.

For religious zealots of a distinctly Imperial flavour, the Empire Flagellants work great. Mix liberally with the hooded heads from the Wyldwood rangers and yet more green stuff and you can make some good robed figures bearing some cool stuff. Skitarii can also provide these, but they are pretty combat focused.

For one off holy men, the Free Cities Wizards can make good pope or bishop look a likes, add a blindfolded electropriest head for an astropath? That actually sounds good. Parchment bits from the stormcast eternal sets can make scribes or administratum officials.

I'm currently kitbashing some chapter serfs baring relics, and honestly, Cadian infantry make sense here as the body. The armour showing through really adds to the fact that these guys serve the Adeptus Astartes. The aforementioned Wyldwood ranger heads needed some trimming around the neck-joint to fit snugly. Do yourself a favour and make sure you have green stuff in ahead of time. My problem is a lack of arms suited to carrying priceless relics, so I'll be keeping an eye here in case someone has an answer for me as well.
