Still over a month away. Hopefully the rest of the supplements won't be too far behind.

Any source on that? The narrative so far has been that the original supplements from 8.5 would be staying

There is no such narrative. The only thing said is that the 8th edition supplements are still usable, and that is correct.

They need an update as the rules are outdated, and they lack Crusade rules and other options that the 9th edition supplements and codex books have.

It will happen eventually, but there's no word on when.

The thicc bois come out in May.

Glad I didn't get the kill team box

I'm glad I did. I don't wanna wait that long. I'll get a box when it does though, so i can get a full 10 man
hundred some dollars for 6 models? No thanks lol

76 quid wasn't too bad, imo.

That said, it's not worth it solely for the heavies, but as I've picked up necrons, and always wanted to try KT arena-style play, I think it was a decent bargain.

I'm also glad I picked up an extra chronomancer on ebay lol

I'm not going to use the other half and I doubt I'll get enough for the other half to make it worth it for me to purchase the whole thing

A friend sold the necrons, terrain, board and books for almost £60, and did this twice. I have no idea why anyone would think the box is bad value.

cool so I sell the necrons for $83 I still end up spending $77 on 6 dudes...great value...

Uh, the five-man Heavy Intercessor box is almost certain to be $60 and the Gravis Captain will be $40+ if you can buy him as a separate kit at all. So 23% off at a minimum if you can find a buyer for the rest of the box.

That wouldn't be a terrible value if GW wasn't somewhat overpriced to begin with.

To circle back a bit the codex supplements are still in a decent spot with the base codex providing at least some faction-specific secondaries and crusade rules, if I were in GW's shoes I'd be prioritizing getting every faction a 9th ed codex before I put any more work into supplements. ...although if I were making decisions at GW I'd toss the codex model altogether and do something more like the Warmachine books where everyone gets an update all at once.

where are you getting $40+ for the captain? a primaris captain is only $35 dollars so the gravis captain will probably be $40 at most, and again where are you getting $60 for the heavy intercessors?

All the three-man Gravis units are $50, the Heavy Intercessors are a five-man Gravis unit. I'll be shocked if they're under $60.

You might be right about the Gravis Captain, all the Primaris characters are $35 outside the Phobos Captain and he's only $36 (which is weird). I won't be surprised if the Gravis is a bit more just because he's bigger and GW probably thinks they can get away with it, particularly if they do the decent thing now that Indominus is out of print and put the Boltstorm Gauntlet in the box. And again, that's assuming you can get him in a box of his own at all.

I don't know when the Heavy Bolt Rifle Captain will get a separate release, but I'm confident it will happen and might even drop alongside the Heavy Intercessors (May is a long ways off from a hype perspective and it's entirely possible GW is keeping the separate character release murky just to move the last Kill Team boxes sitting on retailers' shelves).

I'm also confident that when it happens, it won't come with a Boltstorm Guantlet option. The sprue doesn't feature one and it would require a considerable amount of reconfiguring of the model to even make it an attractive option. Not to mention the datasheets differ in other ways than just swapping the Rifle for the Guantlet (OG has no grenades, New Boy does, therefore just adding the Guantlet to the new guy would give a loadout that's not represented on either datasheet).

FAR more likely we just see the O.G. Gravis Captain turn up in a new Start Collecting or Combat Patrol box with the Dark Imperium Inceptors, Hellblasters, and last five Intercessors.

Mid May, I have missed the announcement of the exact release date?

The specific date hasn't been announced yet, and could miss May altogether due to the shipping issues GW experienced after making the "May" pledge, just like the AdMech codex missed the April window it was promised for.

It's not impossible they'll both be announced tomorrow for pre-order on the 22nd, although the AdMech codex and accompanying swag are more likely.

Kirioth says they'll be like 39pounds or something like that, did the conversion and it came to $56 for a box of 5.

I was excited about these models, but at $56/5 I'm not at all interested in supporting GW's price gouging tactics.

I'd suggest a boycott of the HIs if they're not comparable to normal Intercessors for in price per model.
