... the picture on page 9 of the Dark Angels supplement?

It shows Azrael with a very primaris-looking backpack, that is definitely not the one he was always depicted wearing. We know GW loves to toss in small hints, blues, etc. I think this might be one of them? Pretty cool.

Azrael is on page 8 holding the SoS up, the one on page 9 is a primaris marine, no?

Then its a real tease because if you look at the letters on the scroll underneath the chapter icon on the primaris marine on page 9 the part you can read ends in "RAEL". ... they're really reading us imo.

Secrets, lies, and conspiracies. That's why I signed up. Eventually the rules in the codex will just be a fake for the outer circle and you'll need to decode the real ones for yourself.

Sort of like what they're doing with The Lion's rules in 9th.

Not really, the guy on page 8 in the same picture is clearly Azrael and is clearly holding up the Sword of Secrets, has the big back banner and combi-plasma and everything :laugh.:

Names ending in 'ael' are not uncommon for Dark Angels.

I don’t think that’s azrael at the bottom. He’s more in a position of rest being handed an unadorned primaris helmet. Azrael would be standing next to Ezekiel (that’s ezekiels banner) addressing the marines not being addressed. It seems almost like a knighting or initiation ceremony for the marine at the bottom.

I’m not sure the marine raising his sword is azrael since it does not have his helardry while they took care to make sure the librarian had Ezekiels heraldry.

Especially since we know that inner circle members recieve new names upon the initiation into the Deathwing.

It was most recently mentioned in war is secrets when the primaris were brought into the fold
