CCE1981
My Chapter digresses from the Codex Astartes in it’s use of Cohorts interchangeably with Company. Trying to get feedback on my list: Inheritors of the Primarch (Yes I know it’s a bit of a waist) Battalion - HQs Captain - Jump Pack, Relic Blade, Stormshield - Chapter Master - The Imperium’s Sword, Artisan of War - Angel Artifice, Master-Crafted Relic Blade - Warlord - 170 pts, 2 CP Librarian - Jump Pack, Force Sword - Chief Librarian - Null Zone, Might of Heroes, Beil of Time- Psychic Mastery - 140 pts, 1 CP Sanguinary Priest - Jump Pack - Chief Apothecary - Selfless Healer - 135 pts, 1CP Elite Sanguinary Ancient - Icon of the Angel - Powerfist, Angelus Boltgun - Steadfast Example - 125 pts, 2CPs Sanguinary Guard - 8-man - 2x Inferno Pistol, 2x Power Fist - 260 pts Troops Heavy Intercessors - 5-man - Hellstorm Bolt Rifles - 140 pts Heavy Intercessors - 5-man - Hellstorm Bolt Rifles - 140 pts Incursor Squad - 5-man - 105 pts Incursor Squad - 5-man - 105 pts Infiltrator Squad - 5-man - Helix Gauntlet - 130 pts Infiltrator Squad - 5-man - Helix Gauntlet - 130 pts Fast Attack Inceptors - 3-man - Plasma Exterminators - 165 pts Inceptors - 3-man - Plasma Exterminators - 165 pts Heavy Support Eliminator Squad - 3-man - Bolt Sniper Rifle - 90 pts 2,000 pts, 6/12 CPs Infiltrators sit on home objectives Incursors are disruption/chaff clearers Heavy Intercessors move to the middle board. Inceptors move up behind the Sanguinary Guard and Command unit providing fire support. Sanguinary Ancient gives everything Objective Secured, Powerfist is only so I don’t have to have him juggle weapons, using something like a autoboltstorm gauntlet. Icon of Angel allows free charge re-rolls.....yes I need as many re-rolls as I can get. Sanguinary Guard are the damage dealers, the Powerfists and Inferno pistols are pt fillers, better ideas welcome here. Librarian has Psychic Mastery to help throw out Null Zone. Captain, does Artisan of War allow him to take a second Relic? I figure a Relic Blade is incredible for a Blood Angels, on his own Str 8, AP -3, assuming Artisan of War is a legal means of a second Relic d3. Sanguinary Priest has so much utility here, 6++, healing, free resurrection, make the Sanguinary always fight in the Assault phase, just so much there. Eliminators, thought they could be a good long range threat. Karhedron
Looks a good list on the whole. The only thing that seems lacking to me is some heavy anti-tank firepower. If you run into some nasty like Deathguard Daemon engines, plasma and encarmine axes won't quite cut it. Maybe swap one squad of plasma Inceptors for 3 multimelta attack bikes. They have alot of the same advantages as Inceptors but they trade rate of fire for punch to really hurt large targets. I normally run a mix of Plasma Inceptors and MM Attack Bikes in my lists amd find they compliment each other well. Plus they can easily keep up with the Captain for rerolls and the Sanguinary Priest for healing and resurrection. Sanguinary Priest - Jump Pack - Chief Apothecary - Selfless Healer - 135 pts, 1CP I love the Sanguinary Priest but I have found him to be a bit squishy. He will be the number 1 target for snipers and also risks being charged as he tends to operate close to the front lines. I would spend an extra CP to give him the Armour Indomitus. An extra wound and a 2+ save will help to keep him alive. You also have the one-off 3++ if he gets caught in the open by something nasty. Incursors are disruption/chaff clearers I am not convinced of the value of Incursors. You have 6 Troop units which is quite a lot for a Marine army. I can't help feeling that these points could be better spent on some more firepower. Captain, does Artisan of War allow him to take a second Relic? I figure a Relic Blade is incredible for a Blood Angels, on his own Str 8, AP -3, assuming Artisan of War is a legal means of a second Relic d3. Yup, you have got Artisan of War correct. That should make for a fairly decent beatstick character. Eliminators, thought they could be a good long range threat. Eliminators are a nice unit but they are only 90 points so don't expect too much from them. They can pop a couple of Marines per turn or chip wounds off the odd Character. 3 alone will be lucky to kill even 2nd tier buffing characters but their presence alone will make your opponent think a lot more carefully about line of sight rather than relying on "Look out sir!". You may find they cause more disruption than actual damage but that is still a valid reason to take them. One thing you can do with Eliminators is use the "Angel Ascendent" stratagem to give the Sergeant "Quake Bolts". He is by far the best caddy in the game for special ammo as he has a long ranged gun, BS2+ and can pick out characters. This means you can give your Sanguinary an extra +1 to Hit so even the Power Fists are hitting on a 2+ when they are near the Warlord.
