ThePenitentOne
Okay, so Charadon 1 gave us supplements and armies of renown for 3 factions, and a supplement for an additional faction. Because sisters have already been included in the campaign via their involvement at Martyr's Rest and we know they have releases on the way, I suspect we might see them in Charadon book 2. If so, we stand to gain a supplement, an army of renown, or both. So, which Order would you like to see get a supplement? What would be a good sisters-based task force for an army of renown? SkimaskMohawk
Well the supplements seem to be aimed at the less used/good subfactions. The DE is a weirdly timed one but iirc the previous edition used a custom wych cult to help with shooting over any named one. Anyways with that in mind there's a lot of sub factions that get neglected. Sacred rose, ebon chalice and argent shroud just never see competitive play, with sacred rose in particular having outdated and pretty lackluster mechanics. So that's my pick for a supplement. Armies of renown seems harder, since it can be any theme really, with a lot of bonuses and even new defining relics and traits and stuff. Maybe an angelic host with seraphim and zepherym? That'd be cool. ThePenitentOne
Yeah, the Sacred Rose might be my pick for a supplement too; their Order trait needs an update the most. I was tempted to say Bloody Rose, but you're right- they see a fair amount of action as is. I had also thought Ebon Chalice might be good, as they were founded by Alicia Dominica herself. Sacred Rose are noted for Serenity and a calm demeanor; they believe that Faith alone is the thing that wins the battle. If I had to write a supplement to reflect that, I'd maybe carve out an alternate role for Missionaries/ Preachers. Maybe an extra strat for Dialogi? The faith part of their Order trait is fine as is, but the Overwatch Part needs a rework. Letting all SR units in the detachment to Overwatch would be too much, so maybe one extra unit per turn? Or maybe they can do it without paying CP? Sidenote: In the Chronicle of Saint Katherine's Aegis, the Sacred Rose are going to be the Order responsible for the Schola Progenium facility; I thought their calm demeanor would make them particularly suitable for working with children and youth. Love the Angellic host AoR idea. Especially if we ever get a jump cannoness; the angellic host concept would sell the heck out of a jump cannoness. Given that Seraphim/ Zephyrim are the biggest infantry $/ model, this is a safe bet. Celestine and the Geminae have a role here too. Personally, I would like a Penitent Crusade AoR. Pure Mortifiers, Repentia, Flagellants; lead by either a Missionary or a Cannoness Penitent- basically combining the datacards of Cannoness + Repentia Superior. They'd be a tricky army- the Penitent are more about redeeming themselves in combat or becoming Martyrs in the attempt; they aren't really the objective holding type, and in 9th, you kinda need that.
