Because I haven't yet done the deep dive into Newcromunda, couple questions to those of you who have:

Gangs of the Underhive contains rules for the basic versions of all the House gangs, but the various  "House of..." books reprint this information and add new, unique House content to justify the book, and once ALL of the "House of..." books are out, Gangs of the Underhive will disappear, correct?

If so, I should get Gangs of the Underhive soon. I'll need "House of..." books for Escher, Cawdor and maybe Delaque... Because I want all their extras. But as for Goliath, Van Saar and Orlock, if I buy in at all, I won't need the expansions.

Sadly it isn't quite as simple as that unfortunately. The rules in the House of... books don't just reprint those in Gangs of the Underhive and add new stuff. In a lot of cases the rules in the House of... books change those that came from Gangs of the Underhive. A couple of examples, off the top of my head, are Goliath Juves (which became Bullies in House of Chains) have a significantly different stat-line in the two books and Orlock Champions (which became Road Sergeants in House of Iron) have different skill options. Skill options is a change for most gang members because of the extra skill tables added in each of the books. There's load of other changes to the point that I would say with the release of each House of..., that gang's rules in Gangs of the Underhive became obsolete.

Could you still use the rules for gangs in Gangs of the Underhive? Yeah. But you'd be using dramatically different rules to anyone else playing that gang using the relevant House of... book.

Arguably, once House of Shadow comes out the whole of Gangs of the Underhive becomes obsolete. Except for one thing; I'm not sure the Trading Post is included elsewhere??? I could be wrong as I'm working from memory, but I think that is the case. There have been appendices to the Trading Post in a couple of books (I know Book of Ruin and Book of Peril added stuff) but I don't think any of them re-print the Gangs of the Underhive Trading Post in full.

We may see all of the content / rules that slipped through the cracks show up in the new release of the rulebook / starter box set.

Hopefully they will get it sorted out this time as the track record of errors and cut and paste issues hasn't been great with Specialist Games team.

Yea I wouldn't even bother with Gangs of the Underhive, the trading post is fully available on Yaktribe. Just get the core rulebook and whatever Book of/House of book that's relevant to the gang you want. I never got GotU and have played in multiple campaigns no problem (admittedly I play GSC, CGC & HC so never needed the house rules).
