BrainFireBob
Looking to add a Daemon Prince, considering several builds. What are you favoring? I'm seeing some very tough options with Fleshmetal+Iron Without, and some delightfully stabby versions with Q'O'K the Boundless and Black Clad Brute Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/369827-daemon-prince-loadout/ Share on other sites
N1SB
Yes, Fleshmetal Exoskeleton Relic + Iron Without Warlord Trait is absolutely what people choose Iron Warriors for, with the usual Wings and Malefic Talons. I myself am sorely tempted by this. For your purposes, you're adding a Daemon Prince to an existing army, I think this is the best plug & play option. But there is 1 interesting counterpoint I heard, especially for 9th ed's Secondary Objectives: Fleshmetal Exoskeleton Relic + Cold and Bitter Warlord Trait. You surround the Daemon Prince with 3+ squads of Cultists as ablative Wounds that won't ever fail a Leadership check, effectively bubble-wrapping him. You don't even need to take Wings as you're marching up with him. Yes, there are Snipers, but with your statline and Fleshmetal, it'll take your opponent more Snipers than it's probably worth. Then the Cultists do the Three-Quadrants-Sitting Secondary Objective and you should be able to the Perform-Psychic-Ritual-Three-Times one as well surrounded by these Cultist blobs. However, huge trade-off...you basically have to design an army around this Warlord Trait. Kythnos
Deamonsmith is another useful warlord trait, if you fancy daemon engines. Your Daemon Prince is fast enough to keep pace with the engines and can buff their damage output this way.
