Ahzek451
Is anyone else having issues managing the plasmacyte when tagging along with destroyers? Most notably the skorpekh? I could be doing it wrong, but keeping it out of harm's way usually means placing it behind or in the middle of a unit. And in the cases of a long charge by destroyers, it can be left behind to evaporate at 6.1 inches or more. That check in the unit coherency step can be annoying. Heck, 3ven worse with ophydians. Tyriks
I think it needs a rule that during the charge phase it moves with the Destroyers it's closest to but doesn't count as charging or something. I have had mine die to charges a few times, or I place it out front to try to keep it in range and it's easily killed by enemies somehow. I stopped bringing one for a bit. Ahzek451
I mean, it works deep striking it in when you need it. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/370039-plasmacyte-wrangler/#findComment-5691938 Share on other sites
Get Thokt
I place my Skorpekhs in a sort U formation with the Plasmacyte between the front 2. I usually get him to charge first (buffing the skorpekhs before he goes in) to soak up any overwatch. He is a flying unit too, so he can be placed further around the enemy unit, leaving a nice straight charge for Skorpekhs. Any farther consolidations shouldn't be an issue. Captain Idaho
It's fairly cheap so best suggestion is run it as close to the target unit as possible, using Advance if possible and hope the Skorpekh make it into melee. If they don't, well it's only a Plasmacyte. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/370039-plasmacyte-wrangler/#findComment-5692940 Share on other sites
Mandragola
I think you just have to accept that you'll often lose them. It's not a huge problem if you do. I agree it would be useful if it had some sort of mechanism to keep up with charging units.
