ServoBadger
Has anyone built Intercessors or Reivers as counts-as Firstborn Veterans, using the weapons from the Veterans kit? If so, how did it turn out and was much actual converting required? Basically I've got ten slots left in my Deathwatch cases for 32mm infantry and a load of Deathwatch weapons I haven't used yet (a couple of Frag Cannons, a couple of Infernus Heavy Bolters, some SIA Bolters, etc.). I was going to buy a Tactical Squad box but... the ones I already have are so short, even compared to their Mk8 brethren, so I'm considering using Primaris instead. Good idea? Bad idea? apologist
Depending on the finish you want, it won't take much conversion work. Most of the length of the bolt rifle comes beyond the hand grip, so trimming around the grip allows you to add a suitably cut-down boltgun easily: From my blog If you want to use other bits, you can use the arms from Intercessors (etc.), and drill out the bulk of material from the grip, then trim it down. This will allow you to put in any weapon you like: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/370113-primaris-models-with-firstborn-weapons/#findComment-5694195 Share on other sites
Iron Sapper
I rebuilt my Veterans using Primaris bodies and Deathwatch arms/weapons. They fit nicely IMO and don't look out of place. Also, I used the older helmets instead of the Primaris ones to be able to tell them apart easier. ServoBadger
I rebuilt my Veterans using Primaris bodies and Deathwatch arms/weapons. They fit nicely IMO and don't look out of place. Good to know the arms work well, I've always thought that the arms from the Veteran kit looked a bit big/long when I used them with an old Tactical Squad box I had lying around. Some of the squads might look a little weird if I end up mixing Primaris based Veterans and Firstborn based Veterans... but I'm still thinking it's worth the small extra cost to use Primaris bodies. I didn't like the size difference either so I went with all Primaris bodies. Here's a couple of horrible photos. http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/gallery/member/163204-iron-sapper/ Edited May 4, 2021 by Iron Sapper Doghouse 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/370113-primaris-models-with-firstborn-weapons/#findComment-5694755 Share on other sites

Duke Danse Macabre
They look great, when he made the DW kit the mk 8 armour was larger than the old marines so we scale better with Primaris, old tacticals and FW look off though but the hands and weapons are still fine.
