Plague _Lord
As the title suggests, which secondaries do you end up taking most often in matched play? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/370183-which-secondaries-do-you-take/ Share on other sites

dice4thedicegod
I like (from our book) - purge the vermin - ancient machineries If you are running the silent king, then the one that gives 3cp per unit destroyed by a noble might also be good Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/370183-which-secondaries-do-you-take/#findComment-5696211 Share on other sites
Mr4Minutes
Engage on all fronts/vermin Scramblers/banners Last spot is usually whatever works best against my opponent. I’d like to try a list using the SK and 2 killy CCBs to score code of combat but I still don’t have the SK. It’s just midfield objectives, right? So get some scarabs out there and sitting on an objective, taking an action and screening your forces. Honestly, I can work that into a lot of scenarios! Mr4Minutes
Any scenario that has at least 3 middle field objectives work. The missions that it most benefits, my opinion, have the objectives close to your deployment zone so you can protect it easier. The missions with only 1 or 2 located more center/middle of the board are probably not as good. Harder to defend and easier for your opponent to take. Get Thokt
The requirements are pretty tough. Start the action with no enemy units on the objective, and completed next turn. Even just holding one (of course it'll be the one you selected) works better than Engage or even Purge Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/370183-which-secondaries-do-you-take/#findComment-5698843 Share on other sites
dice4thedicegod
I feel it’s a great use for any scarabs who are not needed to screen your forces. Maybe a third, smaller, scarab unit. I play reaper mephrit blocks, so having a midfield shoot out over the heads of scarabs sounds rather nice. Mandragola
There are a lot of good units for ancient machineries. Scarabs, wraiths, warriors and Lychguard can do it while advancing. Small units of immortals and cryptothralls can do it if they get somewhere safe. It does depend on the mission and opponent but there are plenty of situations where it's a good pick. Scarabs are great anyway, so taking a load of them is hardly a sacrifice. Mr4Minutes
You can also hit more then one objective to score it in the same turn. Outside of units, Nihilakh has the strat to perform an action and shoot and, provided you time it right, the command protocol to do the same can help score it with your warrior blobs and still get to shoot them.
