So I'm currently working on building a plastic Hierodule, as the resin model IMO clashes a bit with modern Tyranid aesthetics. However, I'm a bit worried that my conversion might be a bit small compared to the actual unit? This is a very WIP model obviously, but could someone give me an idea of whether it's roughly the right size? Doesn't have to be perfect obviously but I don't want to be proxying the unit with a model that's far too small. For size comparison, here she is next to an equally WIP Swarmlord.

I found this image, basically it looks like the Hierodules have been outsized by things like the Haruspex and Maleceptor. I think as long as you use something like a Haruspex as the base, it should be about right.

For me your model looks too upright, the torso should be closer to the ground

I also found this piece of awesome, full album here.

I see:

Haruspex body

Harpy tail/abdomen

Tyrannofex legs + haruspex arms for the back legs

Trygon head

Stone crusher fex carapace

2x tyrannofex rupture cannons.

Probably cheaper just to buy the FW kit, no?

where is that sword on the swarmlord from?

That's a resin part from Hydracast. He makes some really nice totally-not-Tyranid parts, though buying from him can be a bit of a pain as he is located in Russia. I would recommend his stuff if you can get Boosty.to to work though, the sculpts are superb and he's great to do business with.
