I’ll be honest, I have a severed kroot head (from the skulls box) to paint and as I understand it the skin is usually green but I’m keen to do something in a different tone (as green would blend in too much with the Ork head it is atop), so thought this would be the best forum to ask in.

What kind of colours can they be?

For reference: the head atop the archer’s head :)

While the Kroot are often depicted as green/brown/beige they can in fact come in a lot of different skin colours, as they can change it dpending on diet.

Of the top of my head I believe turquoise, yellow and dark red have been given as examples in previous codexses. So really any colour you want.

Edit: pulled out my 3rd edition codex, page 47 has some good examples, such as Oranage or bronzed skin, grey and balck skin and some others.

Trokair, thank you very much! I guess I can do pretty much any colour!

It was suggested over in the Ork forum to do it as a shrunken head so I think I’ll go for something brown or ruddy and dried out, many with paint on it.

And thanks, N1SB!
