This combo only works in matched play since vigilus detachments are not allowed in the GT mission pack

Now that Space Wolves have been rolled into normal space marines they technically have access to the indomitus crusader specialist detachment.

Take the indomitus crusader warlord trait.

You take a max strength swiftclaw unit and give them chapter master re-rolls (or have the chaplain on bike escort them) and give them the assault doctrine.

During the movement phase you use the indomitus crusader warlord trait to give them the white scars chapter tactic and advance the swiftclaws along with any support units.

Once you charge them in you give them savage strike and liberators (indomitus crusader stratagem).

So in summary you can easily make a turn 1 charge with the white scars tactic, since they are swiftclaws you can make them a 16 man squad, hitting on 2's, +1 to wound with 61 attacks base, with 6's counting as 3 hits, re-rolling all non-6's to fish for more hits. I considered making this a successor chapter since you can get 6's counting as 4 hits but I felt the 16 additional attacks for berserk charge was mathematically better. Also having access to Luckas the Trickster is nice.

What do you guys think? Did I miss anything? does this work in matched play?

Swiftclaws can’t use Indomitus Crusader. Only Intercesser Squads, Inceptor Sqads, Primaris Captains, Primaris Lieutenants, and Primaris Ancients in that detachment get the appropriate keyword.

You can already give much more than a unit of Skyclaws the advance and assault turn 2 onwards. A Captain with jump pack with the Hunter Warlord trait only needs to successfully charge. A Primaris Captain with Vox Imperitum can make a 9” bubble of advance and charge.

That sounds more appropriate.

I know about hunter but I was trying to think of a way to alpha strike a squad of bikers (:biggrin.:).

Like you said since hunter can only be taken advantage of the turn after the deed is accomplished.

Odd that the keyword wasn't extended to more primaris but I guess that's what was available when vigilus came out.
