Skywrath
As I was playing my Deathwing Apothecary today, I had a bit of a interesting realisation. Why couldn't the Narthecium be a weapon? Fluff-wise, it's durable enough to get through terminator plate (to get through to progeroid glands) and pointy enough to get to said glands. Why couldn't GW turn it into: 1. Turn it into a S4/5 weapon with AP 1/2 attached to it, for 1 damage. 2. Make it into a single weapon attack but wounds of unmodified 6's does a MW instead of regular damage (similar to a misercordia). That wouldn't be too out of left-field would it, for the price of 5-10pts? Has the above ever happened before in previous codices? Cactus
In ye olden days there was a distinction between the narthecium for adminstering drugs to the living and the reductor for extracting progenoids from the dead. The Deathwatch RPG does allow the use of a reductor as a weapon. As I recall it could pierce power armour but you couldn't add your strength bonus to the damage. It's usually better to just wallop the enemy with a chainsword.
