jarms48
I know we already have a wish list thread, but I believe my document requires a thread on its own for community discussion. It’s currently 35 pages long with a parallel document for making custom regiments.I’d love opinions on changes, maybe additions, any kind of criticism is appreciated.Anyway, here’s both of the documents:- Astra Militarum 9th Edition Codex My version (work in progress).- Regiment Selection Rules Intended as a sister document to the above, but can also be used with the current codex. They both require more work. Also, the documents are best read in print view. - Experimental Rules for Adding Regiment/Tempestus Regiment Units to Other Factions There's aren't mine, but they're pretty cool and worth a share (and all have much better presentation than mine): - Militarum Tempestus 9th - Astra Militarum 9th - DKOK 9th Edited January 27, 2022 by jarms48 barek and TechCaptain 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/370677-jarms-list-of-homebrew/ Share on other sites
jarms48
With the disappointment that was MFM 2022 for the Astra Militarum/Imperial Guard I decided to make my own version. I call it the Quick Fix. Astra Militarum/Imperial Guard Quick Fix It's a combination document. It's only 4 pages. There's a Codex and FW point adjustment, a brief Errata to fix some issues, and an FAQ that I can add to if any questions come up. jarms48
Here's some other random documents I've done so far: New Units For Sisters This aims to bring back the jump-pack as an upgrade for both the Canoness and Palatine. Which allows them to deepstrike in and keep up with units like Zephyrim. There's also rules for a generic Paragon Warsuit Canoness. I need help playtesting the Paragon Canoness, as I haven't had the chance to test her with relics and warlord traits. Hopefully her cost balances that. I also added a Tech-Priest Enginseer with Adeptus Ministorum keywords, that way Sisters actually get a character that can repair and buff their vehicles. Lastly I readded the old Frateris Militia as a cheap unit. * * * * * I'm also starting on a small Inquisition codex. Very early work in progress but I've got the main rules ironed out. I also did up the old Emperor's Fist Specialist Detachment into an Army of Renown. Completely compatible with the current Guard codex and rules. Here it is. jarms48
I've made a brief balance document for First-born vehicles, Rhino and Landraider based ones, to make them more viable. jarms48
I've been ironing out my homebrew unit datasheets. Adepta Sororitas: Now you can play with a generic Paragon Warsuit Canoness instead of being forced to take Morvenn Vahl. Inquisition: I adjusted the Inquisitors point costs and upgrades to try to balance out the differences between them being a non-pskyer and psyker. Now if you want to make them a psyker they'll be the current 60 points, as it's 5 points to give them the Pskyer keyword and 10 points to give them a basic force weapon. If you want a non-psyker they're 45 points base. jarms48
Imperial Guard: This will be an extensive one, as I've been working on a total conversion. HQ: I decided to merge both Commanders and Command Squads again. I assumed GW would limit Company Commanders to 1 per Detachment like SM Captains, so I made Platoon Commanders HQ units as well. I also removed the Refractor Field. Though I could probably add it back, always seemed weird that the Platoon Commander had one. Similar thing done for the Tempestor Prime and the Scion Command Squads, merged together. I gave the Tempestor Prime a Refractor Field as unlike the Platoon Commander they have much more value in the lore. I assumed GW would removed the Lord Commissar as a seperate datasheet, and so updated as well as moved regular Commissars to HQ. The Lord Commissar would probably become some kind of character upgrade, like Chapter Command for SM. jarms48
Imperial Guard: Troops: What's changed for Scions? Not too much, I've increased their Ld characteristic by 1. They're the elite of the Astra Militarum and should have higher Ld than the rank and file. I increased the range of the hot-shot lasgun and hot-shot laspistol back to what ordinary lasweapons should be. I have also give the Tempestor a hot-shot lasgun again. jarms48
I've made a new Astra Militarum Quick Fix document after the most recent Balance Dataslate, and the disappointment tournament results of Guard getting 26%. If you're interested in giving it a try you can find it here. Inspiring for what I want to do with all my various Regimental brews. Thanks mate. I'm working on more things at the moment too. I've just finished my latest Ad-Mech changes. My updated Ad-Mech Datasheets: Spoiler Summary of Datasheet Changes: Belisarius Cawl: - 20 points cheaper. - Now Infantry instead of Monster keyword. - Has Agents of the Imperium keyword. - Can take Servitors as additional models on datasheet. - Servitors improve Master of Machines roll by +1 per Servo-arm model to a maximum of 3 wounds. Tech-Priest Dominus: - Can take Servitors as additional models on datasheet. - Servitors improve Master of Machines roll by +1 per Servo-arm model to a maximum of 3 wounds. Tech-Priest Enginseer: - 5 points more expensive. - Has Agents of the Imperium keyword. - Can take Servitors as additional models on datasheet. - Servitors improve Master of Machines roll by +1 per Servo-arm model to a maximum of 3 wounds. - Awaken the Machine can be used on any Imperium Vehicle. It provides either a +1 to Hit or 5++ Invulnerable save, but not both. Can be used on Titanic Vehicles but requires a Leadership test. Tech-Priest Manipulus: - Can take Servitors as additional models on datasheet. - Servitors improve Master of Machines roll by +1 per Servo-arm model to a maximum of 3 wounds. Technoarcheologist: - Can take Servitors as additional models on datasheet. - Servitors improve Master of Machines roll by +1 per Servo-arm model to a maximum of 3 wounds. - Removed Servitors from Machine Focus due to them now being attached to Character units. Cybernetica Datasmith: - Can take Servitors as additional models on datasheet. - Servitors improve Master of Machines roll by +1 per Servo-arm model to a maximum of 3 wounds. Secutarii Hoplites: - 2 points more expensive. - Now has <Forge World> and Core keywords. - Moved Skitarii keyword to faction keywords, to put in-line with other Adeptus Mechanicus datasheets. - Arc Lance (Shooting) AP increased to -2, Damage increased to D3, and Ability changed to be in-line with Arc Rifle. - Arc Lance (Melee) Strength decreased to +2, AP increased to -2, and Ability changed to be in-line with Arc Maul. - Removed Secutarii Ability so now this unit may benefit from Dogmas. Secutarii Peltasts: - 2 points more expensive. - Now has <Forge World> and Core keywords. - Moved Skitarii keyword to faction keywords, to put in-line with other Adeptus Mechanicus datasheets. - Galvanic caster flechette now ignores the benefits of cover. - Galvanic caster hammershot increase Range to 30” and increase Damage to 2. - Removed Secutarii Ability so now this unit may benefit from Dogmas. Other Changes: Knight of the Cog: - For each Detachment in your army with this ability, you can select one Questor Mechanicus Super-heavy Auxiliary Detachment in your army. Models in that Detachment gain the Knight of the Cog and Adeptus Mechancius keywords. Knight of the Iron Cog: - Use this Stratagem before the battle, when you are mustering your army. Select one House Raven unit from your army. That unit gains the Canticles of the Omnissiah ability. Army of Renown: Mechanicus Defence Cohort - Extremis Sentinel Protocols: Remove this dot point. “This unit never gains a forge world dogma, but its inclusion in a Detachment does not prevent other units in that Detachment (excluding other units with this ability) from gaining a dogma.” Note. This now allows Extremis Sentinel Protocol units to get a dogma. Kataphron Breachers: - Add the Core keyword. Kataphron Destroyers: - Add the Core keyword. Skorpius Dunerider: - Add the Core keyword. Servitors: - Remove this datasheet. All Servitors must be taken with Tech-priest characters. Onager Dunecrawler: - Add the Core keyword. Skorpius Disintegrator: - Add the Core keyword. The goal of this is to make the lesser used units in the Ad-Mech codex more viable. Make regular servitors, tech-priest enginseers, and Cawl more interesting. You could now potentially take a tech-priest enginseer, or Cawl, in another Imperium army now using an Auxiliary Support detachment. Knights of the Cog now give a CP refund due to matching keywords and can be repaired by most tech-priest units.
