Hi all,

It seems like we can sart a new Crusade campaign in our FLGS, Covid thingies notwithstanding.

I've painted a few of the new ones and perhaps I should join :-)

I have several ideas flaoting about but I'd thought I'd check here first.

Would it be vialble to play with 2 royal wardens? Attatch them to a blob of 20 warriors (yes, they might get shot of the table quite fast but not everyone plays DE or Mechanicus) and march forward.

Add a cryptek for a 4++ to one blob if needed..?

If you're in cc you can fall back, shoot and (re)charge, right? That's the wardens abbility. With those nice assault 2 guns that should kill some stuff.

Rest of the bunch will be a load of scarabs, maybe a c'tan, a hexmark because I really like the model, maybe that Traveller-guy.

So,

Yes? Workable/doable? More advise?

I'd love to hear!

And is there a possibility to restart that "unit of the week" series? Really helpful! :-)

I believe the chronomancer only grants a 5++ , not a 4++ (though they themselves have a 4++).

As far as the royal warden, I think it’s “fall back and shoot” and is great with reapers… but don’t think that you get to charge. (Note: I was wrong - they do get to charge as well!)

Often one warden is great but not sure you’d need more than one unless you had at least 3 large blobs of reaper warriors advancing into the mid field

It's fall back, shoot AND charge, for one core unit. With no penalties even. It's great. Definitely want at least one royal warden, but HQ slots are hard to come by and you don't need 2 to babysit one unit.

That HQ slot is better spent on a noble or cryptek.

OK, thanks guys!

Royal Warden: check!

5++: check! :-)

Maybe a skorpek lord with 6 friends? Or a different kind of armycomposition... patrol + whatever... hmmm.

2 bog warrior blobs with 2 wardens will be something I'd like to try though. And since we have to make a 50 PL crusade army fro wich you can then pick units you want to play, 2 wardens isnt that bad.

Is the Deciever still good? I still have the metal model in its' blisterpack/box. Bought it when they were just released. Maybe it's time to finally build it up :-D

C'tan generally are good but personally I would rather take the Nightbringer. I think NB's superior combat stats and built-in Entropic Strike are better than the Deceiver's redeploy ability.
