Already is

Pretty sure Valrak said in his stream that we are getting an old marine crusader squad in the upcoming release‽

Nah he said Crusader Squad and in the same video he basically said its gonna be all  Primaris  so dont expect first born miniatures.

I'm not much of a Marine guy (though I love me some Chambers Militant of the Inquisition), but this thread title drew me in.

What I will say is that if ANY non- Chamber  Militant chapter has the potential to draw me in, it's the Templars. So I'll celebrate with y'all when it drops.

Having said that, if drops before CSM, or at the very least before CSM get their second wound, it will break the Internet with hate.  And while I won't be one of the vocal haters, there will be a part of me that feels that the rage would be at least somewhat justified.

justified? CSM had so much love over the last decade. BT had nothing.

Dont forget that all Space Marine releases (except Indomiuts) were always releases for Ultramarines or later on all first founding chapters. BT just shared the same codex.

BT has not had a model for sixteen years. When it does happen I will drink deeply from the tears. No amount of wailing from xenos and heretics is going to get in the way of my enjoyment of the return of the eternal crusade.

That was sixteen years ago! Good lord I am getting old. I had to double check the date on the old BT codex.

Good Emperor, I try not to think about it. Good thing I'm sitting down... also how I feel now and to the right other players asking how long its been.

Does that put us in the lead for longest time without new army specific models?

Edited by Eberious

Maybe...?

Pedro Kantor is newer, all the other big loyalist chapters got models at least with their supplements. All of the Xenos races have newer models. (Even Kroot, if you count BSF!)

I think the closest comparisons could be the old metal guard regiments?

The last release was January 2006, when Draco was put on full release, where he had been event specific beforehand.

Maybe...?

Techenically our Finecasts also there is a good argument IF Heresy lists (not saying I agree just that there is an argument)

Valhalla, Mordians and other AM for sure. I think Biel Tan are the onl y ones I currently think of.

Even other popular subfaction who have lost their special rules for a time like Alaitoc (Sniper Dude), World Eaters (Khârn) get something.

@Schlitzaf. thats not 40k and thats all Imperial Fists. (even Sigismund^^)

I think some Eldar models have gone longer without an update, but don't quote me on that

Oh, definitely, but as a faction, Eldar have had many new models since then, and even some of the craftworlds have had faction specific models.

Just had a look on shapeways and alot of popular black templar designs have been removed, looks like GW legal team is specifically targeting black templar 3rd party items (The same seller has Ultramarine and Ravenguard items left untouched)

Not an indication by any means, but something interesting to note.

Fingers crossed for a tide of black clad releases towards the end of the year.
