WickedJester1013
I had the idea of making some marines reflect some of the fantasy knightly orders. Specifically loved the knights of the blazing son from Warhammer online as well as the Warhammer fantasy settings. Any tips on how you convert up some primaries marines to reflect that style? I was thinking of using some storm cast bodies as the base of the conversion but beyond that I don’t have any ideas. Rik Lightstar
The first step for me would be finding appropriate heads as these will really change the look of any miniature. Some suggestions from Puppetswar: https://puppetswar.eu/models-and-bits-97/all-bits/heads/hooded-crusader-helmets.html https://puppetswar.eu/models-and-bits-97/all-bits/heads/high-crusader-helmets.html https://puppetswar.eu/models-and-bits-97/all-bits/heads/paladin-helmets.html https://puppetswar.eu/models-and-bits-97/all-bits/heads/knight-helmets.html Or these from Kromlech: https://bitsofwar.com/home/760-legionary-heads-hooded.html https://bitsofwar.com/home/740-legionary-heads-iron-pattern.html These all have a strong "Knightly" vibe while still having a Sci-Fi feel too. For some shields: https://bitsofwar.com/home/388-legionary-eagle-pattern-shields.html https://puppetswar.eu/models-and-bits-97/all-bits/infantry-weapons/gothic-shields-left.html The Stormcast kits can also be a good source of Swords and Hammers. For me using Stormcast for ALL the bodies can look a bit out of place, but they could certainly work well for Sergeants and Characters giving them a look of having better armour to denote their rank by working up through the ranks of the Stormcast models. Hopefully that gives you somewhere to start. Doghouse
There are some quiet nice 3d printed helmets on ebay as well, these are quite good: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154406196432?hash=item23f35394d0:g:q1MAAOSwFLRgEyAy Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/370733-knightly-order-conversions/#findComment-5712405 Share on other sites
