Plague _Lord
On paper they look really good to me - they aren't too expensive and they are tough. Anyone uses them? I think shield + claw is the best loadout. 2 in a list just used as distraction carnifex that could actually survive? Yes please! CCE1981
I’ve used two of them in a list with the Fenrisian Great Axe and shield. They’re are great as a distraction Carnifex! One of then keeps surviving the game, usually the first goes down by turn 2. Karhedron
Yes, Shield and Claw is probably the optimum combo on these guys so that they still hit on 2s. Running a pair of hem will put serious pressure on your opponent and still not cost too many points. For Lols you can have Bjorn behind them to avoid the old guy getting picked off. He provides rerolls for them and they provide him with some walking cover. I prefer the Axe/Shield combo on Ven Dreads as their BS2+ means the axes still hits on 2s in the first round of combat. Bjorn can’t give them rerolls because they aren’t core. Still good for protecting him though as he is waltzing up the field blasting with his multi melta Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/370882-wulfen-dreads/#findComment-5716031 Share on other sites
yan
Yes there great! I also run two of them, one with claw/shield & two heavy flamers and one with axe/shield one heavy flamer. Because I just never can choose. The invuln is great and the opponent needs to put a lot into them to bring them down, meaning that my redemptors will stay alive longer and shoot. If they don't target them there gonna be in there face pretty soon with the 8" move and re-rolleble chargers. Because there not core I don't have to worry to much where to position them and I can send them often on a rampage tour on there own. With the heavy flamers they can aslo clear some screens.. Commander_Moustache
I love podding one in. The re-roll to charge makes them very scary. Prefer the axe and shield combo myself, mainly because 2 flamers is often overkill if I want to charge infantry from the pod, and the axe has better anti tank which my force lacks.
