GreenScorpion
I have been looking at the sprue pictures on GW site but I can't seem to understand whether or not it would be easy to get more than 3 ogryns/bullgryns out of a given box with only some modelling of body parts, so I decided to check here if anyone with experience with the kit could answer some questions: Do we get enough heads in the box to make more than 3 miniatures? There are plenty weapons, are there also extra arms or parts of arms depending on the case for more than the 3? Does anyone know if they fit nicely in terms of size with GW's ogors? (in case they were similar it could help with getting the extra bodies) Thank you for any feedback Edited July 12, 2021 by GreenScorpion Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/370971-ogrynbullgryn-box-questions/ Share on other sites
Grotsmasha
With a bit of trimming on the inside of the armour and the Ogor gut, the Bullgryn armour can be made to comfortably fit over Ogor torsos. All of the Weapon loadouts of Ogryns and Bullgryns are separate arm sets from the shoulder down. Although this model is heavily GS'd, you can get an idea of how it works. (in case they were similar it could help with getting the extra bodies) The sprue pics on GW's site for the Ogryn Auxilia box[/url will throw some extra light on things; but I appreciate it's also nice to have the opinons of people with hands-on experience of a kit :) Heads There are five heads included; three bare; one with a gasmark/rebreather; and one that's nominally a BONEhead – though it would work nicely as a standard ogryn, too. Arms Yes, as Grotsmasha says, there are excess arms; you'd be able to arm six models in total. Compatibility The Ogryn and Ogre/Ogor kits are identical in size and share common joint styles on heads and shoulders, so should fit with a minimum of effort. Even parts that are not directly kitbashable could be easily converted – a few trims or scrapes here and there; nothing onerous. Background-wise, Ogryns are often recruited from relatively 'backwards' or 'barbaric' feral or feudal worlds, so some furs and ruggedness might be rather fitting. It's also be worth noting that the Jotunn-grade Servitor Ogryn kit for Necromunda offer some additional options, particularly for heads. Note that these don't share common joints with the others, so will require a little extra effort – but I think the results would be worth it. Trokair
Having extensively converted a bunch of Ogryns from memory the kit either comes with more than 5 heads, or I used quite a few ogre heads (can’t remember for certain). As has been mentioned the Ogryn arms and the Bullgryn arms are separate arms, so you get a set of each,. On account of being able to build Nork Deddog there are actually 4 gun arms, three shooting and one held one handed. For the Bullgryn arms the shield are the same irrespective of shield, while the other weapon arms are separate. With some spare orger arms you could probably mount the shields on separate arms. There are also 4 sets of armour plates. So with a bit of cutting and maybe some green stuffing you can turn a box of ogryn and a box of ogres into a lot of ogryn/bullgryn, just keep in mind that ogres only have two poses. My lot, mostly Ogryn/Bullgryn but with some ogre and some other stuff thrown in.
