Take the Stormsword instead.

Trust me, those things are glorious.

Or a Typhon.

A Bunker can only take two things, not three.

Split the Thudd Guns up in two squads.

Infantry on food are toast in 3k games.

Powerfist on tactical squads sergeant is a waste of points.

Havoc Sarge always with AA.

I think you will struggle in objective missions. You have 4 units for grabbing objectives but only one of them have transport. If the enemy focus on shooting up your footslogging tacticals (even easier since you don't have artificier armour on the sergeants to soak up AP3 shots) you will struggle to get victory points during the game.

Melta bombs on infantry is more useful when the infantry unit have high mobility (assault squads or squads that can infiltrate or deep strike) to hunt down vehicles early game. Footslogging tacticals will most likeley have less use of them, the squad as a whole will have more use of artificier arnour on the sarge.

My suggestion is to find the points get Rhinos for the remaining tacticals. And use them to fan out to pick objectives in such games, in other games you can use them to babysit your gun line (but will do so more safer in Rhinos, also the ability to fire all bolters (as footsloggers can do) is less useful early game if you play gunline oriented lists like this one).

Looking from a hypothetical opponent's point of view, the biggest threat is your siege tyrant squad and the medusas. So they will most likeley feel the most heat during early game so keep that in mind during deployment.

The siege tyrants are very versatile. very good shooting, with good CC ability and good armour. I think they will be more useful and introduce some much needed tactical flexibility to you if you can find the points to deep strike them (warmonger?), this is why:

  • Deep striking the tyrants allows for 20x S8 shots coming from an angle and position the opponent cannot anticipate and deploy against at the beginning of the game. Which generates some defensive mindset to othewise offensive armies (WE, EC, SW etc) which is good for the rest of your army (being gunline oriented).
  • Siege tyrants tick off all the prerequisites for being a good unit to deep strike; good shooting (necessary since you cannot charge out of deep strike) and good CC ability since you will most likely get in close combat with them if you deep strike (deeps striking often means getting closer to the enemy) and good defences (2+/4++).

Thanks for the feedback. I have sorta tweaked it a bit, in line with the models i might have lol. I love my Stormblade, haven't failed me yet with them plasma goodness, but I don't mind trying out the typhon.

Bunker: Void Shield

Mixing a Vindicator with a Laser Destroyer Array, which wants to stay put the whole time to shoot more, and Vindicators with Demolisher Cannon, who wants to move araound all the time, makes no sense.

Not a fan of mixing the guns in a squad of Iron Havocs either, but I guess you could do that.

Ammo dump > Void Shield.

Havocs love that. ;)

And again: Give those troops a Rhino with MM.

THey are more effictive, more durable and a lot more fun that way.

What is a Vanus Assassin?

From what i'm reading... but doesn't the ammo dump not work for the havocs if they are inside the bunker? Only the ammo pile works for inside the bunker, also the ammo dumb needs the "model" to be within 3" of it to work, so I figured that the void shield will be better for them, also considering Kyr can give them re-rolls.

The vindicators have a laser destroyer because consider they can shoot at different targets thanks to PoTMS, also the movement is calculated by each individual vehicle, so as long as I stay within coherency the laser can shoot at max potential. As for the havocs, I love having the versatility to really hurt heavy vehicles and not just shooting glancing hits and flyers.

Sorry i did forget to mention i'm using the Mournival rule set, and the Vanus assassin is like a uber hacker who is not on the board but have 3 hacking drones flying around  buffing and such.
