HandsWithLegs
I've been trying to paint a chainsword so that it looks like the teeth/blade are freshly out of a forge, and burning white hot. I've had pretty good success on flat blades, but the chainsword teeth throw me off, and I can't find any examples online. Does anybody have any advice or experience with this that they can share? Brother Tyler
I imagine that searching for images of knifesmithing, blacksmithing, and Forged in Fire will yield some useful images. HandsWithLegs
Those are helpful, but are mostly for flat blades. Its the line of individual teeth that I'm struggling with Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/371131-struggling-to-paint-burning-chainswords/#findComment-5724671 Share on other sites
Kain Mor
One thing that may help is treating each tooth as an individual blade perhaps? It will definitely be more time consuming and detail oriented but I’m wondering if where you’re having trouble is trying to translate it from one large blade to many small ones Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/371131-struggling-to-paint-burning-chainswords/#findComment-5724756 Share on other sites
Cruor Vault
Try painting all the chainsword teeth with Corax White. Then apply Gryphound Orange contrast over that. Once it's dry you can paint the center of the flat surfaces with a little Yriel Yellow. jaxom, Pig Of Sparta, HandsWithLegs and 1 other 4 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/371131-struggling-to-paint-burning-chainswords/#findComment-5724758 Share on other sites
